They were drawn to the glowing lava lamp and eagerly explored the colorful posters decorating the room. The magnetized cell models quickly became a favorite, helping bring abstract biological concepts to life in a fun and interactive way. Having their own lab trays and folders made students feel like real scientists, ready to explore and discover. Your generosity made all of this possible, and we are deeply grateful. Students loved the fidget bands so much that they would trade out chairs that did not have them because it allowed them to quietly relieve some restlessness from sitting the majority of the day. \r\n\r\nMy dyslexic students had never seen a color reader before, so they were very excited to use something other than their finger to help them follow along in text.\r\n\r\nOverall, the tools provided made a huge difference in our classroom who is heavily populated with ESL and dyslexic students. Your support has made an incredible difference in the lives of our students and in the educational experience we were able to provide.\r\n\r\nThanks to your donation, each student received their own copy of The Ambrose Deception, which allowed for deeper engagement, more meaningful discussion, and a stronger sense of connection throughout our school community. Some students shared that they had never finished a full novel before, and this project gave them the motivation and confidence to do so.\r\n\r\nThe novel itself, filled with mystery, adventure, and problem-solving, was the perfect choice to spark curiosity and imagination. It challenged students to think critically, collaborate with peers, and make connections between the story and real-world themes. The characters in The Ambrose Deception served as relatable and inspiring figures for many students, especially as they navigated challenges and used creativity and perseverance to solve puzzles. These themes aligned perfectly with our school's values of resilience, teamwork, and intellectual curiosity.\r\n\r\nOur school-wide study of the novel included a range of activities designed to enhance learning and promote school unity. Students participated in daily discussions, writing assignments, and cross-curricular projects inspired by the book. Many classes created their own scavenger hunts, wrote alternative endings, or even designed new characters based on the original trio. These projects not only enriched students' comprehension and writing skills but also fostered collaboration across grade levels.\r\n\r\nWe understand that you had many causes to choose from when deciding where to give, and we are truly honored that you chose to invest in our students. Your generosity has had a lasting impact not just on this particular project, but on the culture of reading and curiosity we are cultivating at our school. You've helped show our students that there are people beyond the walls of their classrooms who believe in their potential and want to see them grow.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your kindness, your generosity, and your belief in the power of stories to change lives.","fullyFundedDate":1741095565351,"projectUrl":"project/novel-study-the-joy-of-a-mystery/9136701/","projectTitle":"Novel Study: The Joy of A Mystery","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. McCutchen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4596818_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y504&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723224881294","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4596818"},{"teacherId":4596818,"projectId":9040325,"letterContent":"I am writing to extend my deepest and most heartfelt thanks for your generous support of our project Makerspace Magic: Combining Art and Critical Thinking. Because of your kindness and willingness to invest in creative educational opportunities, our students now have a new and exciting way to express themselves, collaborate, and think critically—all through a colorful and engaging medium that has captured their imaginations: Rubik's cubes.\r\n\r\nYour donation directly funded the purchase of a full set of Rubik's cubes specifically designed for creating large-scale mosaic images. These are not just toys—they are powerful learning tools that have allowed our students to combine art, math, problem-solving, and teamwork in ways we had never experienced before. The moment the cubes arrived, excitement buzzed through our school. Students couldn't wait to open the boxes and start experimenting. \r\n\r\nSince receiving the cubes, our students have completed five full mosaic projects. Each one has been more ambitious and collaborative than the last. From designing pixelated renderings of our school mascot and logo to the creation of favorite animals, the students have poured their energy, creativity, and critical thinking into every project. They've learned to deconstruct images into pixel patterns, strategize color placement, and work together with shared goals and timelines.\r\n\r\nWhat's been most inspiring is how the project has drawn in students who don't typically see themselves as \"artists\" or \"math people.\" The Rubik's cube mosaic art appeals to a wide variety of learners—visual, kinesthetic, analytical—and has become a unifying activity that bridges traditional academic divides. It fosters persistence and patience, too, as students must often try several configurations before the cubes align just right.\r\n\r\nBeyond the technical skills, this project has given our students a sense of ownership and pride. They love showing off the completed mosaics to their peers, teachers, and families. We've displayed them throughout the school, and the feedback has been incredible. Several parents have even told me that their children have asked for Rubik's cubes at home so they can continue creating after school.\r\n\r\nIn a time when screen time dominates so much of children's attention, it's been refreshing to see students voluntarily spending time manipulating physical objects, thinking through complex patterns, and working side-by-side on something tangible. The room fills with energy and laughter during our mosaic sessions, and it's clear this project has ignited a spark of creativity and confidence that will stay with them.\r\n\r\nAll of this has been made possible because of you. Your support has had a direct, visible impact on our classroom and our students' educational experience. Thank you for believing in our project, for valuing creative problem-solving, and for making it possible for young learners to engage with something truly unique and rewarding.","fullyFundedDate":1739802621239,"projectUrl":"project/makerspace-magic-combining-art-and-crit/9040325/","projectTitle":"Makerspace Magic: Combining Art and Critical Thinking","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. McCutchen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4596818_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y504&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723224881294","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4596818"},{"teacherId":8460746,"projectId":9077203,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support in providing our classroom with headphones, a pencil sharpener, and a stapler.
