This seemingly simple accommodation can make an enormous difference in a student's ability to learn, participate, and feel successful in the classroom.\r\n\r\nWhat is especially impactful is that alternative seating does not simply accommodate movement—it changes the message a student receives about themselves. Instead of being told repeatedly to \"sit still\" or being viewed as distracted because they are wiggling, students can learn that movement is a tool they can use to help themselves concentrate. That shift can build confidence, independence, and self-awareness. It allows students to understand what their bodies need and make choices that support their own learning.\r\n\r\nAlternative seating also communicates something important about inclusion. Students do not all learn, focus, or regulate themselves in exactly the same way. Providing different seating options recognizes those differences and creates a classroom environment where students can access learning in ways that work for them. It gives students permission to be themselves while still maintaining expectations for respectful behavior and academic engagement.\r\n\r\nThank you for recognizing that successful learning does not always look like sitting perfectly still in a traditional chair. Thank you for being willing to think creatively about what students need and for providing practical supports that can have such a meaningful impact. These choices demonstrate patience, understanding, and a genuine commitment to helping every student succeed.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, thank you for giving students the chance to discover that movement and learning can exist together. A little wiggle can provide focus, comfort, confidence, and access to education. What may appear to be a small seating adjustment can have a lasting effect on a student's experience at school.\r\n\r\nYour support truly matters, and I am deeply grateful for the difference alternative seating can make in students' daily lives.","fullyFundedDate":1778262110034,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating/10101287/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Isbell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10437169_orig.jpg?crop=1919,1920,x0,y454&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1771336767306","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10437169"},{"teacherId":10437169,"projectId":10101001,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for providing my classroom with some very valuable manipulatives!
