The rug arrived within the first few week of school, and the excitement on my students' faces when they walked in and saw it was priceless.\r\n\r\nMy Pre-K students are dual-language learners who come to school every day bubbling with curiosity, joy, and a love for learning. They dive headfirst into every activity, support each other with such kindness, and light up our room with their energy and big hearts. This rug instantly became our circle of community. This is where we sing, share, learn, and grow together.\r\n\r\nWe use it daily for morning meetings, read-alouds, Spanish alphabet recognition games, group discussions and learning songs, social-emotional learning and teamwork activities and rest time.\r\n\r\nThe rug has brought structure, comfort, and a warm sense of belonging into our classroom. Each letter provides an anchor point for us to build early literacy skills.\r\n\r\nOne sweet moment that stood out was when a student found the first letter of his name in Spanish on the rug and exclaimed, \"¡Como en mi nombre!\" (Like in my name!) The rug does not just help us learn letters, it helps us see ourselves and our linguistic diversity in the learning process.\r\n\r\nIn short, your support has created a clean, cozy, and safe place for us to gather, encouraged bilingual language development, helped us build routines and classroom community and sparked joy and curiosity from day one!\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our little learners.
