Because the items arrived over the summer, I had time to organize everything ahead of the year and put together individual supply boxes for each student, a small change that has given them so much more ownership over their own learning and let them complete tasks with minimal support from me.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate and genuine. They absolutely love the magnetic drawing boards, and the social-emotional conversation cubes have become a favorite too; those cubes are doing a lot of work for us, helping students practice listening, writing, speaking in complete sentences, and taking turns, all at once. The playdoh and tool kit have been wonderful for building fine motor skills, and honestly, some of the most meaningful moments have come from something simple: the plastic storage bins and cardstock let me build morning task boxes tailored to each student's developmental level. Watching their faces light up when they realize they've mastered a skill has been one of the most heartwarming parts of this year so far.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we'll keep building on this momentum with the morning task boxes, gradually increasing the challenge level as students grow more confident and independent. We're also planning to expand how we use the conversation cubes into small group activities, so students can keep practicing those social and communication skills in new settings. Your generosity gave these students a strong, hands-on start to the year, and we're so grateful for the chance to keep growing from here. Thank you for allowing me to best support these amazing children.","fullyFundedDate":1780942840447,"projectUrl":"project/life-skills-in-a-box-tools-for-independ/10328031/","projectTitle":"Life Skills in a Box: Tools for Independent Living","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Connor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10527356_orig.jpg?crop=640,640,x0,y78&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1780935138941","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10527356"},{"teacherId":9149079,"projectId":10374217,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating the curtains to our art classroom! They have already made a noticeable difference for my students and me. Our classroom gets a great deal of sunlight, and the heat and glare from the windows can make it difficult for students to stay comfortable and focused while they are working.\r\n\r\nThe curtains have helped us better control the amount of sunlight coming into the room, which has made the classroom cooler and more comfortable. They also help reduce glare, making it easier for students to see demonstrations, examples of artwork, and projected images when we are learning new techniques.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, the curtains have helped create a calmer and more welcoming art room. My students spend a lot of time working on detailed projects that require concentration, and having a comfortable environment allows them to focus more fully on their creativity rather than being distracted by the heat, bright sunlight, or activity outside the windows.\r\n\r\nIn an art classroom, the environment really matters. I want my students to walk into the room and feel that it is a place where they can slow down, experiment, make mistakes, and create something they are proud of. Your generosity has helped me create that kind of space for them.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and helping make our art classroom a more comfortable, focused, and inspiring place to learn and create.
