As they worked together to construct their rockets, they identified and applied their understanding of shapes like cylinders, cones, and spheres, making connections between geometry concepts and real-world applications. Watching the students' eyes light up as they saw their creations soar into the sky was incredible. They used clinometers to measure the height of each rocket, reinforcing their understanding of angles and measurement. This process encouraged problem-solving, teamwork, and the confidence to experiment and iterate. Every week after our library lesson, my PreK students choose a book to check out for their classroom library. They love the opportunity to choose a book from our collection. One of the PreK students is already reading. Watching her find books that she can read on her own has been such fun!\r\n\r\nThe board books are also used for our buddy readers. I have several third graders that have been reading the books to practice reading with fluency and expression then read them with the PreK students.
