Their little faces lit up as they explored the new seats, trying each one and giggling as they discovered their favorites. Right away, they noticed how comfy and fun learning felt when they could choose a spot that worked best for them.\r\n\r\nOne of the sweetest moments was during reading time. A few students curled up with their books in the new chairs and whispered, \"This is the best reading spot ever!\" Others eagerly asked if they could take turns. The seating has made our classroom feel cozy, inviting, and special—students truly feel like they have a \"just right\" space for learning.\r\n\r\nThe new supplies and organization have also made such a difference. My kinders love knowing exactly where to find materials and how to put things away on their own. It's helping them build responsibility while also giving us more time for learning (and less time searching for things!).\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to keep encouraging independence during centers and small groups. With their flexible seating and organized supplies, my students are practicing making good choices, taking ownership of their learning, and working together in a way that's both fun and meaningful.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for helping our classroom become a place where learning feels comfortable, exciting, and full of joy!","fullyFundedDate":1746786393718,"projectUrl":"project/kinder-comforts-big-learning-in-little/9275089/","projectTitle":"Kinder Comforts: Big Learning in Little Seats","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Washington","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9609101_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y180&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721961524070","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9609101"},{"teacherId":10000449,"projectId":9258494,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting our classroom! When my students first saw the new materials—bright highlighters, dry erase markers, small magnetic whiteboards, colorful markers, and handy organizers—they were beyond excited. One student picked up a neon highlighter and said, \"This is going to make my work pop!\" It was such a joyful moment.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the whiteboards and markers daily for everything from quick writing warm-ups to collaborative reading responses. The highlighters have become a favorite tool during close reading activities—students are now confidently identifying key details and evidence in texts. The organizers have helped us keep our materials neat, making it easier for everyone to stay focused and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nOne of our most impactful moments was during a small-group discussion. Students used their whiteboards to jot down ideas, highlight key vocabulary in their texts, and then share their thinking with the group. It encouraged participation from students who don't always feel comfortable speaking up.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, students will be using these tools during our \"Author's Toolbox\" unit, where they'll analyze mentor texts and then write their own stories. With your help, they now have the resources they need to succeed and feel confident in their learning.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping bring these simple but powerful tools into our classroom—you've made a lasting difference!","fullyFundedDate":1737498785379,"projectUrl":"project/3rd-grade-reading-classroom/8971494/","projectTitle":"3rd Grade Reading Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Washington","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9609101_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y180&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721961524070","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9609101"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_9678","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":532,"numTeachers":43,"percentFrplEligible":76,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":34,"percentWhite":28,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":26,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"12.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":77.3,"schoolId":9678,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Miller Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Miller Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/arlington-independent-school-district/miller-elementary-school/9678"}
