Too often we are the ones that everyone \"wants to help\" and it is very easy to accept that lot in life. But one of my goals it to show my kids that it does not matter how smart you are, how wealthy you are or even how capable, what matters is where your heart is. There is always a way to help others in need, even if that is just a warm smile. This project ended up taking longer than expected, I was hoping to have the blankets ready for January when the temperatures here start to drop, but we did not make that time frame. We are still going to donate to the women/children's shelters but it will be at the end of the school year and they will get to hold onto them until next winter when they are needed. But then again, sometimes things that seem like a setback can position you properly to be there when someone is in dire need. The kids are enjoying tying these blankets and will actually snuggle/hug them before we fold them up to put in our box for the shelter, so all of these blankets will come with love already in them. We are currently in the middle of the section about various forms of energy and playing with the balloon \"planes\" and working on chalk \"rockets\". The pennical of this project was to create rockets with the kids that would actually launch 100's of feet into the air. When the creator pack for the rockets themselves became unavailable I realized that we could actually make them here. We are going to facilitate the use of our 3-D printers to create the Finn's and nose cones for our rockets and use craft paper for the body tubes. When the materials first arrived, the excitement was truly palpable; watching my students' eyes light up as they saw the Cricut machine, the vibrant puzzles, and the play kitchen set was a moment I will never forget. For my students, these are not just supplies, they are bridges to independence, confidence, and real-world success. We recently put these resources to work for Valentine's Day, and the classroom was buzzing as students used the Cricut to design and cut their own cards. To see them handle their creations with such pride was incredibly moving, especially as we turned the activity into a practical math lesson. Using the play money and cash register, students \"bought\" cards at different prices, taking turns as cashiers to practice counting bills and giving back change. These are no longer just abstract numbers on a worksheet, but essential life skills being practiced with laughter and purpose.\r\n\r\nBeyond the academic growth, your contribution has provided a vital sense of calm and focus for students who struggle with traditional instruction. I have one particular student who has been having a very difficult time lately, often becoming so overwhelmed that he would tear his folders or crumble his worksheets in frustration. However, when I introduced the new puzzles you provided, I witnessed a remarkable shift. This student, who previously could not sit still, became patient and deeply focused, working through the pieces with a sense of peace we hadn't seen in weeks. These puzzles have become a sanctuary for him, helping him regulate his emotions and find success in a quiet, tactile way. As I have included in the attached photos, the look of concentration on his face says more than words ever could.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, your support has given us a clear path for growth throughout the rest of the school year. Our next steps involve using the number bonds and ten-frame sets to provide the visual support necessary for every student to master addition and subtraction without feeling left behind. The Cricut will continue to be our \"celebration station\" as we plan to create classroom labels to help with organization, graduation decorations to honor their hard work, and small gifts for their families so they can experience the joy of giving. My students are so special because they try their very best every single day, and by providing these resources, you have invested in their dignity and their joy. I have already seen students using these resources independently to calm themselves, communicate their feelings, and stay engaged in class.\r\n\r\nThe daily living activities, including money games and hands-on practice materials, have provided valuable opportunities for students to build real-world skills.
