Your generosity has helped us complete so many projects and at the same time my students are learning! \r\n\r\nMy students were super excited when I told them all those boxes in the corner were items for our classroom. We had a show and tell with ideas as a classroom. Students would pick an item in the box and tell me what the item is for and give me an idea of how we could use it in class. It was so neat to see their little minds working and listening to their ideas. \r\n\r\nI placed the black beans in plastic shoe box tubs and put letters, numbers, counting bears, and other small items in with the beans. I have the students pull out the letters out of the beans and say the letter or number. With the bears and other small items, I have them count the items as they pull them out of the beans. This gives them satisfaction as they feel the beans wrap their hands (sensory) and they are learning at the same time.","fullyFundedDate":1746786067495,"projectUrl":"project/fitting-in-the-learning-puzzle/9125002/","projectTitle":"Fitting in the Learning Puzzle","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. A","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9887785_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y161&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1740158455190","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9887785"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_17837","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":541,"numTeachers":39,"percentFrplEligible":91,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":9,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":87,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":68.4,"schoolId":17837,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Humphrey's Highland Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Humphrey's Highland Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/amarillo-independent-school-district/humphreys-highland-elementary-school/17837"}
