Because of your donation, we received materials such as reusable write & wipe pockets, document pockets, laminating supplies, markers, pencils, and organized classroom tools that have truly transformed our daily instruction. We now use the write & wipe pockets during our Do Now warm-ups and guided practice, allowing students to solve problems, erase, and try again without fear. One powerful moment happened during a multi-step equation lesson when a usually quiet student worked through a problem, erased his mistakes, and then confidently explained his thinking using our sentence frames. His classmates followed along, and I could see his confidence grow in real time.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, they were excited and immediately eager to use them. Many asked if the supplies were really for them, and that sense of ownership has made a big difference. The laminated materials and document pockets have allowed me to create stations and partner activities where students collaborate, use visuals to guide their thinking, and take more responsibility for their learning. I've noticed that students are more engaged, more willing to participate, and more confident in sharing their ideas.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we will continue using these resources to support group work, math stations, and student-led problem solving, especially as we focus on graphing linear functions and preparing for the Algebra 1 STAAR exam. These materials have not only supported academic growth, but they have also helped build confidence and a positive classroom environment where students feel safe to try and learn. Thank you for making such a meaningful and lasting impact on my students' learning experience.","fullyFundedDate":1771630097483,"projectUrl":"project/fueling-confidence-powering-algebra-ch/9959984/","projectTitle":"Fueling Confidence. The new printer has become an essential tool in transforming how my students learn and engage with science. I can now provide colorful worksheets, vivid visuals, and clearly printed laboratory guides that make complex chemistry concepts easier to understand. Visual learning has made a huge difference—students are now able to connect abstract ideas to real-world reactions, and our lessons feel more interactive and exciting than ever before.\r\nMy students are especially thrilled when they receive bright, color-coded handouts showing reaction processes, molecular structures, and experiment steps. Many of them have expressed how these materials help them focus better and make science \"less scary and more fun.\" One student even shared that the visuals helped her finally understand how atoms bond and react—something she struggled with before.\r\nThis project has not only enhanced learning but also boosted confidence and curiosity in the classroom. Thank you for making it possible for my students to see chemistry in full color and for turning every printed page into an opportunity to inspire discovery.","fullyFundedDate":1758141494818,"projectUrl":"project/from-printer-to-possibility-bringing-ch/9717441/","projectTitle":"From Printer to Possibility: Bringing Chemistry to Life","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ordinario","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10263578"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_14020","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2752,"numTeachers":139,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":43,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":50,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"19.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":14020,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Chester W Nimitz High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Chester W Nimitz High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/aldine-independent-school-district/chester-w-nimitz-high-school/14020"}
