Our new table has become a valuable part of our classroom. The table provides a space where students can come together to work through their math problems and support each other's learning. \r\n\r\nWhether we're doing group activities, math games, or partner practice, having a dedicated place for collaboration has made a real difference in how students engage with the material.\r\n\r\nThe dry-erase surface has been super helpful. Students now work out problems directly on the table, making it easy to share their thinking, correct mistakes, and build on each other's ideas. \r\n\r\nDuring a recent lesson on solving one-step equations, a group used the table to walk through each step together, asking questions and checking their work as they went. It created a more open and collaborative environment than we had before.\r\n\r\nI have no doubt that the table will continue to be a central spot for hands-on learning and collaboration. It's been a great tool for encouraging discussion, collaboration, and immediate feedback. \r\n\r\nThank you again for helping support a more engaging and interactive learning space for our students.","fullyFundedDate":1740414523480,"projectUrl":"project/collaboration-space-for-small-group-lear/9044537/","projectTitle":"Collaboration Space for Small Group Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Payne","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7797649_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y146&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1694106747965","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7797649"},{"teacherId":9903634,"projectId":9073043,"letterContent":"Spring has arrived in east Tennessee, and the warmer temperatures gave my classes the opportunity to go outside and use the boules you helped to purchase!\r\nLast week was our first week of state testing, a time that brings lots of quiet sitting. To balance this out with some more active learning, my 8th grade classes were eager to head outdoors. First, though, they needed to learn the basics of boules. We watched a video from a French sports and outdoors store about the rules of pétanque and went over the vocabulary. They got a set of boules to take outside--and remarked on how heavy they are! Then they got in pairs and groups of three to play a practice round. Once each group had a winner, those winners played each other tournament-style until we had a class winner. After playing for a few minutes, they got the hang of it and were ready to challenge each other. \r\nAt the end of class, I promised them we would find another time soon to enjoy a boules day. My students have been putting many of the materials to great use. Normally by this time of year, I am out of tissues but because of the donation, I still have several boxes to get me into January. Our colored pencil collection was very used up and now with our new boxes, students were able to have colored pencils to complete notes and projects in class even if they were not able to purchase their own. The main one we have worked on has been our ocean currents and weather unit. Having new colored pencils to show the movement of temperature in oceans and how warm and cold fronts move. We will continue to use these as we move into our biomes unit when we come back from break. \r\n The binders have come in handy as I have new students join my class as the year goes on who did not receive a supply list. They are able to come in and get started with the rest of the group. Our pencil sharpener has become a huge part of our classroom as we write and color almost every day. Our dry erase markers have allowed us to use our individual white boards for review games and activities. The board games I chose as replacement items are going to come in handy when we have indoor recess on Fridays as our temperature gets colder over the next few months. \r\n The students and I are beyond grateful for your generous donations and appreciate you making our school year easier.","fullyFundedDate":1721098566710,"projectUrl":"project/success-in-the-making/8403191/","projectTitle":"Success in the Making","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Carter","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3034256_orig.jpg?crop=1960,1960,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1623633687075","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3034256"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_92193","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":702,"numTeachers":51,"percentFrplEligible":21,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":11,"percentWhite":68,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"5 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"13.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":79.0,"schoolId":92193,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Robertsville Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Robertsville Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/tennessee/oak-ridge-city-school-district/robertsville-middle-school/92193"}
