The hands-on materials we received gave my students opportunities to build, experiment, investigate, and discover rather than simply read about scientific concepts in a textbook.\r\n\r\nThroughout the year, my students used the materials to explore force and motion, magnets, electricity, energy, and properties of matter. Activities that might otherwise have seemed abstract became something they could actually see, touch, manipulate, and understand. The Snap Circuits kit, in particular, gave students the opportunity to build working circuits and see the immediate results of their efforts. The force and motion materials allowed them to investigate scientific principles through hands-on activities and problem-solving.\r\n\r\nWhat made these experiences especially meaningful was watching my students gain confidence. Students who sometimes hesitated to participate in traditional academic activities were eager to get involved when they could physically interact with the materials. They learned to follow directions, work through problems, communicate with classmates, cooperate as a team, and keep trying when something didn't work the first time.\r\n\r\nThose skills were just as important as the science concepts themselves.\r\n\r\nAs a transition teacher, I am constantly looking for ways to connect classroom learning to the skills my students will need after high school. These activities provided natural opportunities to practice independence, problem-solving, communication, perseverance, and following multi-step directions—all skills that extend far beyond the science classroom.\r\n\r\nPerhaps the greatest impact was seeing students realize that they could do science.\r\n\r\nYour donation helped create a classroom where my students were not simply learning about science; they were actively participating in it. They were making predictions, testing ideas, observing results, asking questions, and celebrating when they successfully completed a challenge.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing that students with disabilities deserve access to engaging, hands-on learning experiences and for helping me provide those opportunities. Your generosity reached far beyond the materials themselves.
