My 3rd graders were working on a mixed media still life artwork where they drew objects from observation, traced with permanent marker, and then painted with the tempera cakes with the new additional colors that were donated. The kids right away were excited to see that they had more of a variety of colors to work with and I could see the difference in their artworks by just adding a few more shades of colors to their paint trays. The additional paint trays were great to add to their current paints, so they have all of the colors. My 5th graders created a Seasonal Tree artwork using different color families to paint for each season, they also used the tempera cakes for this project and loved the additional colors.\r\nI have been filling the empty bottles with my gallon liquid tempera so that it is ready for next school year. I have created a lot of colors with the liquid tempera I already have so come next year that task will be complete and those paints will be ready for students to use. The tempera cakes will last a long time, which is one of the great things about them, so we will be able to use them for the next few years. Much thanks for helping provide my students with more paint to last us for many projects to come!","fullyFundedDate":1739049260692,"projectUrl":"project/we-love-to-paint/9093327/","projectTitle":"We Love to Paint!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lepo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp871262_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1504116605422","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/871262"},{"teacherId":871262,"projectId":8523985,"letterContent":"Students in all grades have made or are currently working on projects using the neon art materials for the Glow Gallery during our STEAM night in March. It was very exciting for my students and myself to get brand new art supplies especially NEON!!! 5th grade students created Lava Lamps, 4th grade students created Pattern Shoes inspired by Bisa Butler, and 1st grade students created Playful Lines inspired by music and artist Sol Le Witt. Kindergarten students will be using the materials to create an abstract artwork, 2nd grade students are adding neon colors to their value portraits, and 3rd grade are creating Beautiful Botanicals. All of these projects will go into the Glow Gallery during STEAM night this coming March.\r\nDuring STEAM night there will be a hands on activity in the Glow Gallery where they will create wire and bead sculptures using the neon chenille sticks and neon beads. An empty room will be transformed into the Glow Gallery by covering the windows with black paper to darken the room. The Large black lights will be positioned around the room and students will have the chance to explore the Glow Gallery with the handheld black light flashlights. We are all very excited about this event that will have an amazing impact.","fullyFundedDate":1726667462029,"projectUrl":"project/lets-glow-making-a-glow-gallery/8523985/","projectTitle":"Let's Glow!
