They connected to the main character in a deep level and most are planning to read even more from the series on their own!\r\n\r\nWe read several chapters a day aloud and talked about the literary elements of a good book- especially character. While some kids could relate to the main character and the book made them feel heard - others experienced a new perspective on poverty and what many of their classmates go through.
