Your generosity has made a meaningful difference in our learning environment.\r\n\r\nOne of the most special additions has been the calming putty. I've already seen students reach for it during moments when they feel overwhelmed, frustrated, or simply need a quiet break. Some students gently stretch and squeeze the putty while taking deep breaths, while others use it as a way to refocus their hands and minds before returning to their work.\r\n\r\nThese small moments are making a big difference. Instead of becoming discouraged or giving up, students are learning to recognize when they need a moment to reset and are developing positive ways to manage those feelings. It has been wonderful to watch students use the putty independently and then return to their learning feeling calmer and more ready to participate.\r\n\r\nYour gift is more than just classroom materials—it provides my students with tools to feel safe, supported, and successful. Thank you for helping create a classroom where students know that their feelings matter and that they have strategies to help themselves through challenging moments.\r\n\r\nWe are truly grateful for your generosity and the positive impact you have made in our classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1789569606840,"projectUrl":"project/calming-tools-for-sped-students/10427697/","projectTitle":"Calming Tools for Sped Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Stewart","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10044377"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_102952","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":72,"numTeachers":8,"percentFrplEligible":88,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":24,"percentWhite":36,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":30,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":2,"percentMultiracialImputed":5,"gradesServed":"12 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"9.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":0.0,"schoolId":102952,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Dr Paul Kelley Volunteer Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Dr Paul Kelley Volunteer Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/tennessee/knox-county-schools/dr-paul-kelley-volunteer-acad/102952"}
