Our students come to the library every week as part of the related arts rotation so I get the opportunity to read to every class in every grade as well as have them complete a task, assignment, or research project. \r\n\r\nHaving the supplies has made our lessons more engaging and helped the students learn responsibility and care for our new supplies. They love coming to the library and even though we are PE or Art class, the kids love hearing the stories and working on projects together. Our students were thrilled! Being able to utilize these items during their weekly visit to the library has been life changing in the area of student accountability! \r\n\r\nAs the school librarian, I see every class, every week as part of our related arts rotation. I work in their English Language Arts standards to our lesson study each week. I incorporate use of the white boards to help students be accountable for showing their work and not just crumbling up another piece of paper. \r\n\r\nI have been able to use these boards in a variety of grade levels and they are handling the use very well! As an economically high-need school, I work to help students understand how we must take care of the items we receive and be sure they are left in good condition each day. The students love having a different medium to work on. Thank you very much for your donation. The students at our high-need school were amazed when they first walked in and saw it. Our old rug was tattered and in a state of seriously needing replaced. Many of our students do not come with even basic school supplies. I am thrilled for our kiddos to get to experience a new carpet as a place to come together and gather for learning. \r\n\r\nAs our school librarian, I gather the students and share stories daily with all grades including Kindergarten - 5th. Our students love the rug and are still commenting on it daily! Through your donation, we are able to give children clean pants so they can quickly return to their classroom and continue their learning experience.
