We've had to create a fair rotation system because everyone wants a turn. The bean bag has become a cozy reading nook where students can dive into their books comfortably. It encourages them to slow down, settle in, and truly enjoy reading. I've noticed that even some of my more reluctant readers are more eager to pick up a book when they know they might get to read from the bean bag. It has created a sense of comfort and ownership in our classroom library area.\r\n\r\nBeyond reading time, students also love using the bean bag during independent work. The flexible seating option helps meet different learning styles and needs. Some students simply focus better when they are comfortable. Others use it as a quiet place to regroup and reset if they are feeling overwhelmed. In the afternoons, as we wait for buses to be called, the bean bag becomes a calm and welcoming space where students can relax with a book or finish up small tasks before heading home. It has added warmth and flexibility to our classroom environment.\r\n\r\nThe writing stand has been just as impactful. It has greatly enhanced our small group instruction time and writing workshop sessions. Having a designated, sturdy space for students to stand and write has improved posture, engagement, and collaboration. Students enjoy the change of pace from sitting at their desks, and it often sparks more creativity and focus. The writing stand has become a central part of our writing lessons, especially during brainstorming and drafting. It allows me to work closely with students while modeling skills and providing immediate feedback.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our classroom feels more inviting, flexible, and student-centered.
