Since adding our new small group table in ELA, I've seen a meaningful impact on how my 6th grade students learn and participate.\r\n\r\nThe table has made small-group instruction feel more focused and purposeful. Students are able to work together more comfortably, stay engaged during guided reading and writing activities, and easily share ideas without the distraction of moving chairs or searching for materials. It's also helped me organize materials more efficiently, so students spend more time practicing skills and less time waiting.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, the table supports stronger student-to-teacher and student-to-student conversations. I can meet with students while others are working productively nearby, and many students—especially those who hesitate to speak out in a larger setting—have become more confident contributing during discussions. Their writing has also shown growth as they receive targeted feedback in a setting that feels supportive and productive.\r\n\r\nThank you again for helping make this improvement possible. The small group table is helping create a classroom environment where students feel encouraged to learn, collaborate, and grow as readers and writers.","fullyFundedDate":1777110073465,"projectUrl":"project/working-with-small-groups-individually-c/10203884/","projectTitle":"Working with Small Groups Individually Can Make the Difference","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Nesbitt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10482030"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_69427","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":772,"numTeachers":60,"percentFrplEligible":11,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":83,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":2,"gradesServed":"5 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"12.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":89.3,"schoolId":69427,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about South Gibson County Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"South Gibson County Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/tennessee/gibson-county-special-school-district/medina-middle-school/69427"}
