You have helped students to have a positive experience in the lab setting. The new microscopes have made a huge difference in our classroom. Students were excited to practice using the new microscopes and investigate beyond the normal visible world. Students are benefiting with hands-on lab investigations. Students are examining prepared slides (plant cells, animal tissues, microorganisms). Being able to clearly see cell structures like nuclei and cell walls has made lessons much more concrete. Students are practicing proper slide preparation, focusing techniques (coarse and fine adjustment), and recording scientific observations with labeled drawings. Overall, engagement has increased noticeably with properly functioning equipment. Students are asking more questions and taking greater ownership of their lab work now that they can see specimens so clearly.\r\n\r\nIn the future students will be preparing wet mounts to observe cell transport. With this new equipment students will be able to view the stages of the cell cycle. The new equipment has made such a positive impact on the attitude of students using the new equipment. My previous students are jealous! \r\n\r\nThank you so much for contributing to our labs. For kids used to \"making do\" with broken equipment, it made them feel like professional researchers. In the past, students usually struggled to find anything but a blurry blob, but this time they were actually able to see the unique structures of nerve cells and muscle fibers. It was great to see how excited they got to be able to see the cells.\r\n\r\nOur next step is using these to study living organisms in pond water. Because of your help, my students are no longer frustrated by their equipment. They're actually excited to use it.
