The markers, games, greeting cards and prizes have motivated my students. Introducing such small but new and exciting things in a smaller group setting makes them excited to work. They students were most excited for the Colors of the World markers and for the prizes in the prize bucket.\r\n\r\nWe spent a lot of time before the holidays writing greeting cards. The students were allowed to write a card to a staff member at school. This was a fun and motivating way to target their speech goals, whether it was working on speech sounds or writing with correct grammar, without them realizing it.\r\n\r\nOur next big project will come in April when we start writing more cards to staff for Teacher Appreciation week. In the meantime, they will continue using the markers for various crafts, playing games when they work hard and earning prizes from the prize bucket when filling their sticker chart.
