Students are designing, problem-solving, and creating in ways that move beyond textbooks and into real-world application. This tool encourages creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration, while giving students the chance to see their ideas come to life.\r\n\r\nThe impact of this printer reaches far beyond the classroom. All of my students live on a colony where 3D printers are already used in everyday life. By learning how to design and use this technology at school, they are better prepared to plan for life outside of the classroom and understand the practical value of STEM skills in their community.\r\n\r\nOverall, this project gives students the confidence and experience they need to explore future careers, become problem-solvers, and see themselves as innovators. The 3D printer is not only changing how we learn—it is inspiring students to see how STEM connects to their lives and futures.","fullyFundedDate":1746502026841,"projectUrl":"project/stem-beyond-the-textbook-hands-on-3d-pr/9193184/","projectTitle":"STEM Beyond the Textbook: Hands-On 3D Printing","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ulrich","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3948743_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1596025328381","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3948743"},{"teacherId":3948743,"projectId":9153278,"letterContent":"Thanks to the generous support of our donors, our rocket project became an unforgettable learning experience for our students. As an end-of-the-year project, each student built two rockets from start to finish, applying problem-solving, engineering, and critical thinking skills in every step of the process. On the very last day of school, we launched their rockets, giving students a chance to see their hard work take flight.\r\n\r\nMost of the rockets returned safely, which allowed us to relaunch them again on the first day of school this year—a powerful way to connect learning across two school years and spark excitement from day one. This project not only deepened students' understanding of physics, aerodynamics, and engineering design but also gave them hands-on experience in testing, revising, and improving their work—skills essential for future success in STEM fields.\r\n\r\nBeyond the science, our students gained confidence, teamwork skills, and the joy of seeing their ideas literally take off. This project showed them that learning can be fun, challenging, and inspiring, while reinforcing that with persistence and creativity, even big dreams can fly.","fullyFundedDate":1742482959128,"projectUrl":"project/help-our-brains-soar-through-stem/9153278/","projectTitle":"Help Our Brains Soar Through STEM","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ulrich","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3948743_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1596025328381","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3948743"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_100854","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":10,"numTeachers":2,"percentFrplEligible":79,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":100,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"1 - 7","studentTeacherRatio":"5.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":16.7,"schoolId":100854,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Camrose Colony School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Camrose Colony School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/south-dakota/doland-school-district-56-2/camrose-colony-school/100854"}
