We used the leather kits as a special hands-on activity during our end-of-the-year celebration, and the students absolutely loved it.\r\n\r\nEach student had the opportunity to make their own leather wallet. They learned how to properly stamp and design the leather and then work through the process of putting their wallet together. The most challenging part was sewing the pieces together. It required patience, careful attention to detail, and perseverance.\r\n\r\nThe students quickly learned that creating something by hand does not always happen quickly or perfectly. They had to slow down, problem-solve, and keep trying when things became difficult. By the end, they were so proud to have created something they could actually use.\r\n\r\nThis project was a wonderful way to combine STEM skills with creativity and hands-on learning. Having a dedicated cart has made a huge difference, giving us a place to store equipment so it is ready for students to use each day. Our students had never experienced scooters before, and they quickly became a favorite—students use them constantly and are more excited than ever to participate in PE. The addition of bases has also allowed students to fully engage in ball games, creating more opportunities for teamwork and skill-building.\r\n\r\nBeyond our own classroom, this equipment has made it possible to build connections with others. When students from our sister school visited for Read Across America, we were able to share our new equipment, creating a fun, active, and inclusive experience for everyone.
