And because of your generosity, there have been many such days. Let me give you a glimpse of my project, called, \"Write iI To Learn It.\" \r\n My 7th grade students are learning the difficult skills of accurately using evidence from a text to support a main point in writing, or statistics that give relevancy to an argument. This skill takes the patience to attend to details of accuracy, and properly citing the source in the correct way. Students needed to summarize this story by finding key information, highlighting it and then writing a paragraph to summarize. When the paragraph was written there was more highlighting to be sure all important components of a summary was present. Just having highlighters and using their hands to identify key information and then verify that they included it in their paragraphs was wonderful. It was quiet. There were thoughtful questions. I could feel the learning and see it on paper. Thank you! My students have also used expo markers to diagram sentences on a whiteboard, learning every part of the sentence.
