On the very first day of art class this year, students were already eager to ask about it and couldn't wait to see when they would get the chance to use it. Since we dive into painting early in the school year, they were able to enjoy it right away and it has truly been a game-changer! This drying rack has been such a blessing for both my classroom and my students. It offers them the space and opportunity to grow, not just as artists, but as individuals. I love the independence it fosters as my students can easily use the rack on their own, taking ownership of their work.\r\n\r\nFor example, our first graders recently wrapped up a lesson on the color wheel, where they learned how to mix primary colors to create secondary ones. Over the past two weeks, we've used the drying rack extensively for this project, and we plan to continue using it for all painting projects throughout the year. Since I teach kindergarten through 5th grade, this means that every student in the school will benefit from it. In fact, kindergarten, first, second, and third graders have already mastered the drying rack and it's barely a month into the school year!\r\n\r\nI can't wait to continue using this wonderful resource for years to come, and I'm so grateful for the positive impact it's already had on my students' learning experience.","fullyFundedDate":1750555076456,"projectUrl":"project/support-our-young-artists-with-a-drying/9214759/","projectTitle":"Support Our Young Artists with a Drying Rack!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Moore","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9985643_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y54&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1743085868882","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9985643"},{"teacherId":9072705,"projectId":9336999,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom library has been transformed! The fun read-aloud books you provided have quickly become student favorites. Every day, we gather together for story time, and the excitement in the room is contagious. One special moment was when I read \"Chairs on Strike\" for the first time—students were laughing, leaning in, and begging me to read \"just one more book!\"\r\n\r\nThe individual book bins have made such a difference, too. Each student now has their own space to keep books organized and ready to go. This small change has given them a big sense of ownership and responsibility for their reading. I've noticed that students are choosing books more independently and reading with more pride.\r\n\r\nAnd believe it or not, the tape has been a lifesaver! We've used it to repair well-loved books, keep our bins labeled and neat, and even for small classroom projects. It's the little details like this that keep our classroom running smoothly.\r\n\r\nWhen the resources first arrived, the students were thrilled to see what had been donated to them. It even sparked a meaningful conversation about what it means to give back and the importance of generosity.\r\n\r\nAnother important gift you provided was snacks—especially breakfast items. This has been such a blessing, as some students don't always have time to eat before coming to school. Having something to eat in the morning makes a huge difference in their focus, energy, and ability to learn. Starting the day with a full stomach helps them feel ready and confident to tackle new challenges, and I've noticed how much smoother our mornings have become because of it.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our next steps include building a reading challenge where students track the books they complete from their bins and share short reflections with the class. It's been amazing to watch their enthusiasm grow, and I know this is only the beginning.\r\n\r\nThank you for making reading fun, organized, and accessible for every child in my classroom. My students have very much enjoyed this novel study of the book \"Fish in a Tree.\" Through this novel, we have learned about point of view, figurative language, literary elements, foreshadowing, and character development/change. This novel study has taken place both at home and in the classroom. We read and hold group discussions in the classroom, and the students also read and answer comprehension questions for homework. This has taught them responsibility as they get closer to transitioning to middle school. My students' favorite part of our day is when we read this book and that is only possible because of you.
