I should be able to package up a bag of snacks to give to each student on the last day of school so they have a supply of emergency treats for the summer when they lose access to school breakfast and lunch. Some of the students will rely on these in shockingly true need. We used some materials with our hydroponic garden tower and other resources in their very own garden. Students were challenged to solve the problem of food production and accessibility in their communities. Some students researched harmful pesticides and alternative methods, while others researched other agricultural practices such as aquaponics. Your materials helped them develop their love of agriculture as they were able to plant their own seeds, and harvest their own lettuce which we enjoyed in a salad feast! \r\nWhen I asked students what they loved most about this project, one student shared they had never grown anything ever in their life. They said it was a memory they would cherish forever, and I could absolutely see their pride when we checked their plants each week. \r\nThanks to you, my students now have a better appreciation of agriculture and how technology, science, engineering, and math play a part in the thefield of farming. One student even said they might consider a career in agriculture. \r\nThe final thing that I observed was my students growth as a team.
