These books are not just sitting on shelves, they are traveling home in little hands, being read on couches, at kitchen tables, and tucked into bedtime routines. You have helped us grow readers not just in our classroom, but within families.\r\nIn first grade, learning to read is about so much more than saying words on a page. With these new books, my students are practicing decoding, building fluency, and strengthening comprehension. They are learning how to retell stories, make connections, and talk about characters and events with confidence. Just as importantly, they are beginning to see themselves as readers who can pick up a book, make sense of it, and enjoy it.\r\nReading in our classroom is a joyful, active part of our day. You would see students gathered with books they've chosen, whisper-reading to themselves, turning and talking with a partner, or proudly sharing a favorite page. Some of my students, especially those who once felt unsure, are now the ones eagerly choosing books to take home. Watching them build confidence and excitement around reading has been one of the greatest gifts of this project.\r\nThank you for helping us grow strong readers together. Your support is making a lasting difference, one book at a time.","fullyFundedDate":1767039076819,"projectUrl":"project/growing-strong-readers-together/9785392/","projectTitle":"Growing Strong Readers Together","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jones","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7413141_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1600309681590","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7413141"},{"teacherId":7413141,"projectId":7242088,"letterContent":"Because of your generosity, learning in our classroom has become more active, engaging, and joyful, especially in our outdoor courtyard space. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card allowed me to access a wide variety of \"Scoot!\" games across all subject areas, giving my students meaningful opportunities to practice skills while moving, collaborating, and thinking critically. Instead of sitting at desks, students rotate from task to task, solving problems and building confidence along the way.\r\nWhat excites my students most is the movement and energy these activities bring to learning. \"Scoot!\" has quickly become a favorite part of our week. It feels like a game, but it's filled with rich academic practice. Recently, we completed a time-telling Scoot activity in the courtyard, and every child was fully engaged, eager to solve each problem and move to the next. The ability to access a variety of high-quality, teacher-created resources has allowed me to meet my students where they are and keep learning fresh and motivating.\r\nThese resources have been especially impactful for students who benefit from hands-on and active learning. I've seen reluctant learners become more confident and willing to participate, simply because the format feels fun and accessible. Students who struggle to stay engaged during traditional lessons thrive during Scoot activities because they are moving, thinking, and succeeding. Your support has truly created an inclusive learning environment where all students can shine.\r\nI also want to sincerely thank you for your patience in receiving this update. Your generosity has continued to bless our classroom in meaningful ways, and I am truly grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1679453581034,"projectUrl":"project/scoot-into-spring-while-working-and-lea/7242088/","projectTitle":"Scoot!
