They realized it would take following directions and checking off each step. The janitor assisted the students in putting it together because they needed a helping hand. After both units were put together, the students had to set up the aquarium and make decisions on the type of fish and plants to use. After their decision on the plants, the next step was to decide on the fish to put in the aquarium. The guppies arrived the following week and students were excited to just see how the fish and plants could survive together. After the holidays, students were surprised! The plants and fish survived! This would not have been possible to bring real world situations to the classroom, showing it in the setting for students to observe daily and take notes if it wasn't for your generosity.
