I strive to keep my students engaged during my lessons, and one way I do that is through movement, partner work, and by giving my students choices. By having a classroom rug, my students are able to choose if they learn best from their desks or the carpet, they are able to have a comfortable place to learn, they build classroom community, and I am able to pull them all together for science experiments! \r\n\r\nThe original rug I chose for the project was not available, and I had to choose another one. The second rug I chose cost less, so I was able to get all of the supplies pictured with the additional funds. All of these supplies have already been so helpful! My students use the cereal dispenser at snack time since they have a late lunch, the game will be helpful for students to master multiplication facts, and all of the other supplies are items I needed in the classroom. \r\n\r\nI think of you all daily when I see my classroom rug, and your generous support to my classroom, my students, and education as a whole. You are amazing! My students are so excited to have indoor recess activities that they keep asking me if they can have indoor recess! Of course we go outside as much as possible, however, I do teach in a modified year round school district. This means that if it is above a certain temperature in July, we can't go outside. And with each state and school district being different, we are not allowed out in the winter if it is 40 degrees or below. With that in mind our hottest months and coldest months are spent inside. We can't wait to have things to do, and to get off our Chromebooks for a short period of time of socialization and classroom community time!","fullyFundedDate":1754604415416,"projectUrl":"project/indoor-recess/9427256/","projectTitle":"Indoor Recess","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Nichols","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10061400_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750597008788","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10061400"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_6130","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":680,"numTeachers":41,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":34,"percentWhite":45,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":15,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"16.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":73.2,"schoolId":6130,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Dr Benjamin E.
