The spinning shelves have allowed me to showcase many of our short fiction series. Many of these titles were not being circulated. Now that they are housed on inviting shelving, the students can't stop checking them out! I have labeled each section of the shelving with a title and pictures of the characters. This makes it so much easier for my younger students to locate the books they want to read. The plastic bins do the same thing on our regular shelves. They create visual appeal and make it easier for our students to find favorite books and characters.\r\n\r\nThe students were so excited when they saw the new shelves. We did have to talk about not spinning them too fast, but they were so careful with them. \r\n\r\nMy plan to use this shelving for our quick fiction is also going to help create stronger readers. With these books circulating more, my students will build stamina with their reading. They will become more confident and better readers.
