Watching my students use their critical thinking skills and problem solving skills to do something as simple as a puzzle has really helped me see what types of knowledge my students have to help them apply what they have learned in my lessons to real world situations. What's cool about all of this is that these games and activities bring fun into my room! Instead of being an engrossed in a computer game, my students are now wanting to get on the carpet and work together to put together a puzzle or create a device with different STEM materials. Thank you so much for helping me bring more active learning and application in my classroom! These materials have definitely helped me get to know my students more as people and as thinkers!","fullyFundedDate":1735265602553,"projectUrl":"project/early-finisher-brain-teasers/9019488/","projectTitle":"Early Finisher Brain Teasers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Goodale","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2981961_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1532904353603","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/thrillsinthird"},{"teacherId":9802188,"projectId":8874223,"letterContent":"The cuddle cube has been a huge hit in our classroom. Students have been able to use it in so many different ways! Of course it supports their needs for sensory input. Students enjoy jumping, bouncing, rocking, rolling, and laying in the stretchy material as it envelops their bodies. They are using their gross motor skills to move around and explore the different ways they can move within the cuddle cube.\r\n\r\nThe cuddle cube has also helped the classroom in a variety of other ways. Students are learning to take turns. Waiting can be difficult and following simple directions such as waiting, taking off shoes, or using assistance to get in and out of the cuddle cube has increased their social emotional learning. Students are also extending their communication skills by requesting time in the cuddle cube or requesting assistance out of the cuddle cube. Finally, students have be able to expand their social interactions by watching others in the cuddle cube, laughing with them as they bounce around, and making conversations to successfully request a turn in the cube.\r\n\r\nThis item has been a great addition to our classroom and we are so grateful to have it in our clasroom!","fullyFundedDate":1728869258268,"projectUrl":"project/pre-k-special-needs-cuddle-cube/8874223/","projectTitle":"Pre-K Special Needs Cuddle Cube","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jessica","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9802188"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_6220","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":556,"numTeachers":40,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":31,"percentWhite":45,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":61.4,"schoolId":6220,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Oakland Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Oakland Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/south-carolina/charleston-county-school-district/oakland-elementary-school/6220"}
