In this case, these other students are first graders who are still learning how to gain the skills to be able to read. \r\n\r\nThese books are definitely helping my students, along with these first graders, see how reading books can open doors to a lot of different opportunities and fun activities! We are not given a lot of opportunities to do chapter book studies as a class and these books allowed that to happen! Every kid got to pick up an actual book, read together, and experience all of the cliffhangers together which was fun to watch. I even had one student come up to me and tell me that she had her mom buy some more books from the series because she loved the book so much!
