Instead of being confined to traditional desks, students can choose seating that matches the task—floor cushions for partner work, wobble stools for students who need movement, or café-style seating for independent reading. This autonomy has led to noticeable increases in engagement and stamina. Students who once struggled to stay focused are now more invested in their work, and learners who benefit from movement are better able to self-regulate without disrupting instruction.\r\n\r\nFrom a teaching standpoint, flexible seating has empowered me to rethink classroom routines and personalize instruction more effectively. I can design learning stations that encourage student voice and choice, promote peer collaboration, and support small-group intervention without the limitations of fixed seating arrangements. It has helped me build a classroom culture rooted in trust, independence, and respect—where students recognize that learning doesn't have to look the same for everyone in order for everyone to succeed. The flexible seating grant truly reshaped not just the physical environment, but also the mindset and confidence of my learners.","fullyFundedDate":1742922663866,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-minds-flexible-seats-comfort/9018555/","projectTitle":"Flexible Minds, Flexible Seats: Comfort in the Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Shaw","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2345880_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1529732367113","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-c-shaw"},{"teacherId":2345880,"projectId":9439703,"letterContent":"This project had an immediate and exciting impact on my students' learning. The Sphero Indi kits brought coding off the screen and into their hands, allowing them to physically build, test, and revise pathways while seeing real-time results. Students who were intimidated by abstract coding concepts suddenly understood sequencing, cause and effect, and problem-solving because they could see and experience it. The collaboration that emerged was incredible—students discussed strategies, evaluated outcomes, and celebrated successful runs together. It took STEM from something they learned about to something they lived.\r\n\r\nBecause of these materials, I was able to shift my teaching from teacher-led demonstrations to student-driven exploration. The Indis allowed me to design lessons that blended computational thinking with math and science standards, like planning efficient routes, analyzing patterns, and making predictions. I could differentiate with ease—students who needed support used simpler track designs, while advanced learners built more complex challenges and debugged their code independently. Most importantly, the kits helped me foster perseverance and resilience. Students learned that failure wasn't final—it was just feedback. And that is a lesson that extends far beyond robotics.","fullyFundedDate":1755745535401,"projectUrl":"project/coding-in-motion-driving-learning-with/9439703/","projectTitle":"Coding in Motion: Driving Learning With Sphero Indi","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Shaw","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2345880_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1529732367113","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-c-shaw"},{"teacherId":9678245,"projectId":9150661,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of instant film.
