While many people are used to having TVs at home for entertainment, in our classroom — which happens to be a weight room — this technology serves as a dynamic teaching tool and a central hub for training guidance.\r\n\r\nWe use the screen to display daily workout plans, demonstration videos, and real-time timers, which helps students stay focused and on-task without constantly needing to ask for clarification. It has streamlined instruction and allowed us to coach more efficiently while giving students visual cues to improve form and technique. We also use it to display highlight reels and motivational content, which has added a level of excitement and energy that the students truly respond to.\r\n\r\nWhat's most exciting to the students is the feeling that they're in a legit training facility. They often say it feels like a \"real college or pro weight room,\" which raises their level of pride, focus, and effort. One student in particular, who previously struggled to stay engaged during workouts, has completely turned around — now eager to lead warm-ups and keep others accountable by watching the screen closely and helping interpret the day's routine for peers.\r\n\r\nThanks to this project, our weight room isn't just a place to lift — it's a place to learn, grow, and train with purpose.","fullyFundedDate":1746786520811,"projectUrl":"project/bigger-screen-bigger-gains-improve-our/9059286/","projectTitle":"Bigger Screen, Bigger Gains: Improve Our Newly Expanded Weight Room!","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Wardlaw","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9820685_orig.jpg?crop=978,977,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1731519004707","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/coachwardlaw"},{"teacherId":9820685,"projectId":9058830,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our Sports Management students at Palmetto High School were able to bring their ideas to life using the MacBook Pro funded through this project. During our marketing unit, students used professional-grade tools to create graphics, promotional materials, and social media content for our school's athletic programs and community organizations. The results were incredible—not only did they learn real-world skills, but they also saw their work displayed across campus and online, giving them a sense of pride and ownership in their education.\r\n\r\nFor many of our students, this was their first time using high-powered creative software on a MacBook, and the excitement was immediate. They were drawn to the fast processing power, clean design, and ability to multitask efficiently—features that made projects more engaging and realistic. What was most exciting to them was seeing their designs published in real-world settings—used in game-day promotions, event posters, and on school social media accounts.\r\n\r\nOne student, in particular, who had previously shown little interest in traditional coursework, completely thrived in this environment. He quickly became a leader in the class, helping others learn Photoshop and Canva, and is now considering a career in digital media or sports marketing. Stories like his show how the right tools can unlock potential that might otherwise go untapped.\r\n\r\nBecause of how well this unit went, interest in our Sports Management course has grown significantly. Students are asking to join next semester, and we're already looking ahead to expanding the program. Additional resources will likely be needed to keep up with the demand and to give more students the opportunity to explore their creativity and build future-ready skills.\r\n\r\nWe can't thank you enough for helping make this possible. Your donation went far beyond a single device—it created lasting impact and opened new doors for our students.","fullyFundedDate":1738875212956,"projectUrl":"project/game-changing-graphics-empowering-stude/9058830/","projectTitle":"Game-Changing Graphics: Empowering Students to Score Big in Sports Marketing","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Wardlaw","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9820685_orig.jpg?crop=978,977,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1731519004707","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/coachwardlaw"},{"teacherId":9820685,"projectId":8911200,"letterContent":"When our students first saw the new golf equipment, their eyes lit up with excitement and curiosity. Many had never held a golf club before, and you could feel the energy shift as they realized this was something new and special. One student said, \"I've always seen golf on TV but never thought I'd get to try it at school!\" Thanks to your generous support, they now have that chance — and they are loving every minute of it.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the equipment in small group lessons, focusing on basic skills like grip, stance, and putting. Students encourage one another, celebrate small wins, and even offer tips as they improve together. One of the most powerful moments came during a peer-led putting challenge — a student who is usually very quiet stepped up to lead their team, and the confidence boost was incredible to witness. These activities are helping students not only develop golf skills, but also patience, communication, and teamwork.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll be introducing short game practice and setting up mini-courses on campus to simulate real play. Our goal is to keep building their confidence and independence with each step. This project has created a space where every student, regardless of experience or ability, feels welcome and supported. Thank you for making that possible — your donation is helping our students grow in ways that extend far beyond the game of golf.","fullyFundedDate":1734709475633,"projectUrl":"project/fore-fore/8911200/","projectTitle":"Fore! When it comes to motivation, there is various ways to motivate students. My students' faces lit up with a smile when they walked into the room.\r\n\r\nBy adding the comfy desk chairs to my classroom environment, it has given my students something to look forward too. My students enjoy being treated like adults, and having the option to sit in a \"Teacher Chair\" while working on their independent work. It has been so beneficial in the motivation aspect. Not only have my students benefited from the use of the chairs, but my parents of the students and entire school has as well. I am now able to set up two tables together and create an IEP meeting table to hold IEP meetings within my classroom. This has been very beneficial since the project was funded right around IEP season for our school. The chairs have provided a collaborative environment for teachers, students, parents, and administrators to meet and discuss appropriate next steps for students education.\r\n\r\nThe LED lights have provided a more home like feel within my classroom. Your support has made a significant impact on my students' learning experience, giving them the tools and confidence they need to practice life-saving skills effectively. As soon as the face shields arrived, my students were excited to dive into our hands-on CPR training. The ability to use real-life equipment made the lessons much more engaging and realistic, transforming our gym into a hub of focused learning. One specific moment that stands out was during a practice session when a usually reserved student stepped forward to demonstrate proper technique to the class. Equipped with the new face shields, this student performed compressions and rescue breaths with newfound confidence, inspiring others to do the same. It was a powerful reminder of how access to the right resources can empower students to step out of their comfort zones and embrace learning with enthusiasm.\r\n\r\nThe excitement on my students' faces when they first saw the CPR face shields was unforgettable. Many expressed surprise at how professional the equipment looked and couldn't wait to practice. Knowing that they had the proper tools to practice safely made them eager to learn, ask questions, and refine their techniques. Thanks to your support, our CPR/AED unit has not only taught them essential skills but has also boosted their confidence and willingness to help others in emergencies. Looking ahead, our next steps involve integrating these CPR skills into simulated emergency scenarios, helping students practice decision-making and teamwork under pressure. Your contribution has laid a strong foundation for these advanced lessons, and I am genuinely grateful for the impact you have made on my students' education and preparedness for real-world situations.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your generosity and for believing in the importance of equipping students with life-saving skills.
