With your donation we were able to order essential supplies that students now use to explore their world, manage their stress and tell their story through art making. As soon as the materials arrived we dove right in, distributing and decorating portfolios to store our creations, completing art tutorials on drawing paper and getting down and dirty with paint using our brand new brushes and canvas. The quality of their work was beyond what I had hoped in large part because of the professional materials that I was able to provide them with the help of your substantial donation.\r\n\r\nOur school is currently facing extreme budget cuts. I was unsure how I would replenish our supplies this year. You are truly our heroes for providing these resources for us. Students often report that art is a time and place for them to use their brain in new ways, and to relax. They say it is not \"easy\", just different when compared to other classwork. It is a unique place of learning, growth and exploration. They grow their creativity, skill and resilience in the art room. Not to mention, we have a lot of fun! This is all possible because of your contribution. \r\n\r\nThe arts are a critical tool but we can't do it without the necessary supplies. Our art students do not just develop their craftsmanship and skill with media but use it as a tool for expression. In this process students reflect, grow, build confidence and connect with one another and the greater world. It is not just art supplies that you gave us but a pathway to self esteem, empathy, empowerment, peace and so much more.","fullyFundedDate":1731593416583,"projectUrl":"project/aspiring-artists-need-the-basics/8764159/","projectTitle":"Aspiring Artists Need the Basics","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lee","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1545372_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1506110646107","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-stoos"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_103549","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":272,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":81,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":21,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":71,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":49.5,"schoolId":103549,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Paul Cuffee Charter High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Paul Cuffee Charter High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/rhode-island/rhode-island-department-of-education/paul-cuffee-charter-high-school/103549"}
