We use the digital component to view the videos to help us develop background knowledge, an important skill for readers, in particular Multilingual learners. We then engage in vocabulary development by reviewing Tier 2 or Tier 3 words in the text and using the new words in sentences. Lastly, we participate in a shared reading of the magazine and complete the standards-aligned questions at the end. \r\n\r\nWe sometimes engage in extension activities that incorporate writing.
