Your kindness has provided our young learners with wonderful puzzles, stories, games, and hands-on activities that help them explore the big emotions they experience every day. Through these engaging resources, students are learning to identify and name their feelings, recognize emotions in others, develop empathy, practice self-regulation, and discover healthy ways to express themselves. Reading in our kindergarten classroom is about so much more than learning letters and words; it is an opportunity to make connections, ask questions, share experiences, and learn important life lessons. As we read stories together, students discuss how characters feel, what may have caused those feelings, and how they can respond to challenging situations with kindness and understanding.\r\n\r\nThe new books and activities have created meaningful opportunities for students to see themselves reflected in stories and connect what they read to their own lives. During one of our classroom discussions, a simple question like \"How do you think the character is feeling?\" can open the door to a powerful conversation. Imagine a little learner pointing to a character in a story and saying, \"He's sad because nobody is playing with him. I would feel sad, too!\" In that moment, a child is doing so much more than answering a reading comprehension question; they are recognizing emotions, developing empathy, and beginning to understand the feelings of others. Our classroom reading experiences include interactive read-alouds, lively discussions, turn-and-talk opportunities, and hands-on activities that encourage children to think deeply about characters' feelings and choices. The puzzles and games extend these lessons beyond the pages of a book, allowing students to practice cooperation, problem-solving, patience, and communication with their classmates. These resources are especially valuable for children who are still learning to put their feelings into words or navigate friendships and disagreements. Through stories and play, our little learners are discovering that their feelings matter and that they can build meaningful connections by understanding the feelings of others.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, I have been able to intentionally integrate social-emotional learning into our daily classroom experiences in ways that are engaging, developmentally appropriate, and meaningful. Rather than simply telling children how to manage their emotions, I can provide opportunities for them to practice these skills through stories, play, discussion, and collaboration. These materials support the development of essential skills that extend beyond kindergarten, helping students build stronger relationships, develop resilience, and become more confident learners. Most importantly, your donation reminds our little learners that all feelings are valid, and they can learn positive ways to understand and manage them. Thank you for investing in our children, supporting their emotional growth, and helping us build a classroom where every child feels seen, heard, valued, and ready to learn. Your generosity is helping our little learners navigate their big emotions, one story, one activity, and one meaningful moment at a time!","fullyFundedDate":1778608754923,"projectUrl":"project/little-learners-big-emotions/10047179/","projectTitle":"Little Learners, Big Emotions","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Miller","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10414583"},{"teacherId":9424900,"projectId":9454140,"letterContent":"I am deeply grateful for your generous support in making the Cozy Corner of Calm a reality.
