As a result, students are more engaged, collaborating together, and improving self-confidence through play. \r\n\r\nWhen my students were told our project was funded and what we were getting they were excited! They were so grateful and curious of what was to come in physical education. The enthusiasm from a funded project always sparks higher participation levels, with even typically hesitant students becoming more willing to engage. It has also encouraged collaboration, creativity, and confidence as students experiment with the different ways to move, play, and practice skills.\r\n\r\nSome next steps of mine are to hopefully get my current DonorsChoose project funded to work on moving through spaces, balance, and creativity with my PreK-2 students and some of my life skills students. I would love to be able to challenge my students to think outside the box and create spaces that are fun but teach them at the same time. \r\n\r\nAs always, I am so grateful for all of your contributions. The day the rug arrived was one our students will never forget. When I pulled the large, tightly wrapped roll from the box, the room filled with anticipation. As the plastic came off and the bright colors began to show, students gasped with excitement. The moment we unrolled it across the floor, cheers erupted. Many students immediately tried to spot our home state, while others excitedly pointed out states where they have family members. It was incredible to see how something as simple as a rug could spark such joy and curiosity. What might seem like a classroom accessory quickly became the centerpiece of our learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe colorful USA rug has already transformed how we learn together. Students now gather on the map daily for social studies lessons, morning meetings, read-alouds, and group discussions. Instead of only viewing maps in books, they physically sit on, point to, and even stand on different states as we talk about geography, regions, landmarks, and communities. They love participating in activities where they \"travel\" from one state to another, using cardinal directions to move across the rug. This hands-on approach has strengthened their understanding of spatial awareness and geography in ways that worksheets never could. Even students who are typically quiet have become eager participants, volunteering to locate states or identify oceans and borders. The rug has created a welcoming, collaborative space where students feel connected—not just to each other, but to the country they are learning about.\r\n\r\nThe carpet sweeper has also played an important role in making this new learning space sustainable and student-centered. With 20 energetic second graders using the rug daily, keeping it clean is essential. Students were just as excited to see the carpet sweeper come out of its box as they were about the rug. They immediately asked if they could help use it. Now, after lessons, snack time, or art activities, students volunteer to take turns sweeping. They take pride in caring for their classroom and understand that maintaining a clean space helps everyone enjoy it longer. The sweeper makes cleanup quick and easy, allowing us to transition smoothly between activities without losing valuable instructional time.\r\n\r\nBecause of The Campbell Foundation's generosity, our classroom has gained more than a rug and a cleaning tool—we have gained an interactive learning hub that promotes engagement, responsibility, and collaboration. The excitement on our students' faces when the rug was unrolled said it all. Your support has created a space where learning feels dynamic and meaningful, and where students are eager to gather, explore, and grow together each day. We are sincerely thankful for your investment in our classroom and in the educational journey of our second graders.","fullyFundedDate":1765980906605,"projectUrl":"project/exploring-the-usa-while-keeping-our-clas/9960822/","projectTitle":"Exploring the USA While Keeping Our Classroom Clean","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Walters","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10385094"},{"teacherId":6751743,"projectId":9833349,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donations to our music classroom! The lessons include games, visuals, and interactive elements that make learning feel motivating rather than overwhelming. Students are more eager to participate because the activities are clear, engaging, and designed with kids in mind. Many of my students don't even realize they are practicing important academic skills—they are simply excited to learn.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who previously struggled with focus or confidence have especially benefited from these new materials. Students who need extra support are able to work at their own pace, while others enjoy the challenge of enrichment activities.
