Thanks to your generosity, our students had an absolute blast using them during our Olympic Day in May 2024. \r\n\r\nWe used them for our wrestling event, and the students saw some truly epic (but safe) collisions that I'm sure they won't soon forget. My favorite thing about that day is hearing students come back years later and say that Olympic Day was their favorite part of middle school. The incorporation of the bubble balls raised the excitement level even further.\r\n\r\nWe're starting to think the teachers might need to \"borrow\" the bubble suits for some after-school stress relief. I take a lot of pride in making sure my classroom is a cozy, welcoming and inclusive place so that my students can focus on their learning. This table might be the crown jewel in my room now! While the old table was fraying, broken, and wobbly, this new table is beautiful! I was impressed after having the table constructed and was inspired to add some new stools with the table as well (if you see the pictures they have orange legs!). \r\n\r\nColleagues have remarked to me that my room has an extraordinary amount of inclusive seating, it has always been my goal to provide every student with the best environment to learn in. This project and my standing desk project have really succeeded in helping me achieve that goal and helping my students learn. \r\n\r\nOnly 5 days into the new school year, my first project is beginning. Kids are picking a topic that they are passionate about and making a timeline about the history of that topic. They are already begging to sit at this new table (as well as my other Donor's choose tables and standing desks to work). I could not have asked for a more successful project and a more inclusive classroom and it is all thanks to your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1746711630274,"projectUrl":"project/alternative-seating-round-three/9065794/","projectTitle":"Alternative Seating Round Three!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Cene","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9417779_orig.jpg?crop=1774,1774,x1102,y577&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1703090849868","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9417779"},{"teacherId":9581845,"projectId":9095640,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support in funding our HOOBRO Wooden Literature Organizer! Because of your kindness, I will be able to start the school year in my new fourth grade classroom with an incredible organizational tool that I know will make a huge difference for my students.\r\n\r\nThis year marks a big transition for me as an educator. I am moving from a seventh-grade learning support classroom to a general education fourth-grade classroom. While I've loved working with middle schoolers—many of whom needed extra academic and social support—I'm incredibly excited to return to the younger grade level where I can help students build strong foundational skills and routines that will serve them for years to come. As I prepare for this shift, having tools like this mailbox system will help me create the kind of structured, supportive environment that students in both settings need to thrive.\r\n\r\nAlthough the mailboxes arrived over the summer and haven't been used yet, I have big plans for how they will be integrated into our daily classroom routine. Each student will have their own individual mailbox slot that will serve as their personal space for daily materials, returned work, notices, and notes. This will immediately help foster a sense of independence and responsibility in my fourth graders.\r\n\r\nOn the very first week of school, students will decorate their own name tags for their mailboxes to make them feel personalized and special. They'll be introduced to the daily routine of checking their mailboxes in the morning for materials like morning work, newsletters, or messages from me. At the end of each day, they'll use them to turn in completed assignments and gather anything they need to take home. This simple, consistent structure will help students build strong organizational habits and reduce stress during transitions.\r\n\r\nI also plan to use the mailboxes for our weekly \"Reflection Friday\" activity. Every Friday, students will receive a short reflection prompt in their mailbox, encouraging them to think about what they've learned, how they felt about their progress, and what goals they want to set for the following week. This will give them the opportunity to develop their self-awareness and take pride in their growth.\r\n\r\nThe mailboxes will also be used for community-building and classroom connection. Students will be able to write and deliver \"Kindness Notes\" to one another, celebrate peers with shout-outs, and even receive small surprises for positive behavior and hard work. I want my students to feel seen, appreciated, and part of a classroom family—and these mailboxes will play a big part in that.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generous donation. You've given me a tool that will help my students stay organized, feel empowered, and build lifelong habits of responsibility and reflection. I am truly grateful for your support as I begin this exciting new chapter in fourth grade.","fullyFundedDate":1750256192575,"projectUrl":"project/organized-for-success-student-mailboxes/9095640/","projectTitle":"Organized for Success: Student Mailboxes for a Structured Learning Environment","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Calderone","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9581845_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724377982171","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9581845"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_89162","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1157,"numTeachers":93,"percentFrplEligible":24,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":86,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":4,"gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"12.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":88.3,"schoolId":89162,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Ryan Gloyer Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Ryan Gloyer Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/seneca-valley-school-district/seneca-valley-middle-school/89162"}
