Your contribution has meant a-lot for my students and I.\r\n\r\nThe healthy snack packs have been amazing for our afternoon focus time. We had a particularly long math lesson the other day, and a quick snack break really helped everyone regroup and tackle the final problems with renewed energy! \r\nThe new cleaning supplies have made our classroom tidier and safer. We used the disinfectant wipes to give our shared tables a thorough cleaning after our art projects, and the students took pride in helping keep our space germ-free.\r\nThe classroom pets, our new stuffed animals, have become fantastic 'listening buddies' for our reading time. Students can practice reading aloud to them, which helps build their confidence without the pressure of an audience. One student, who is usually shy, spent a whole 10 minutes reading to 'Pete the Cat.'\r\n\r\nWhen students saw the box of snacks, cleaning supplies, and book buddies, there were definitely some excited squeals! They were so happy to have healthy options for those moments when they need it the most. Honestly, they were pretty excited about the new cleaning supplies! They love helping me clean, and it turns tidying up into a bit of a 'mission' for them. They felt very responsible.\r\nWhen I brought out the collection of stuffed animals, the classroom transformed into a miniature zoo! There were giggles, hugs, and immediate requests to name them all. They were so cuddly and inviting. Our stuffed animals have been our 'audience' for practicing our public speaking skills. The cleaning supplies helped them build responsibility and become great helpers. \r\nI appreciate the gifts you gave my students and I, and I hope you are also blessed with what you need , and more!","fullyFundedDate":1765980762420,"projectUrl":"project/empower-dreams-invest-in-education/9958661/","projectTitle":"Empower Dreams: Invest in Education","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gries","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10384144"},{"teacherId":8037852,"projectId":9512344,"letterContent":"What a great way to have \"Comfort in the Classroom\" for third graders! Thank you very much for your generous contribution to our donors choose project. Our classroom received three comfy pillows to relax on during independent reading, 5 new stools to allow plenty of seating for small group work, a nice comfy teacher chair so I can spend lots of time planning, a colorful swivel chair for flexible seating, cleaning wipes, tissues and hand sanitizer to keep us all germ free and healthy this winter, and who can forget the yummy snacks for those long mornings before lunch! \r\n These items help to facilitate varied activities, from individual quiet reading time on the pillows to interactive small-group work using the stools, without being limited by traditional, rigid desks and chairs. The healthy snacks provide better brain health and focus. It also helps maintain students' energy levels and concentration, especially for those who come to school hungry or dislike school lunch. We just moved school buildings before this order was placed. This order and donation made my students feel safe in the new environment! The trampoline is a big hit in my classroom! The students were in awe when they walked into the classroom and saw it there. They love jumping and getting their energy out. The snacks were yummy and shared by all of the students. While we are learning in these early school years, the dust pan and broom are a big help! It is also helping us teach the students daily living skills like cleaning! Instead of being confined to traditional desks, students now have the freedom to choose where and how they learn best. This movement and choice have created a more inclusive, energized, and student-centered learning environment.\r\n\r\nI've seen students who used to struggle with focus now thriving because they can move when needed. These toys encourage children to collaborate and engage in imaginative play, whether they're building structures or crafting their own unique designs. The tactile nature of Playdough allows for hands-on exploration, while Legos promote teamwork as kids often work together to build. On the other hand, soccer equipment and footballs have greatly enhanced outdoor recess by encouraging physical activity, teamwork, and strategic thinking. These items bring children together in collaborative games that require communication, leadership, and a sense of shared purpose. The fast-paced nature of soccer and football not only promotes fitness but also teaches valuable social skills, such as cooperation and fair play, as children learn to work towards common goals. Together, these different sets of equipment foster a balanced development of both the mind and body, enriching the recess experience for kids.
