The students who have had the opportunity to use the flexible seating have shared that feel that it has provided them with a chance to learn in a way that works best for them. The students love all the supplies that were chosen. \r\n The sensory toys are a huge hit. We are able to talk about different feelings with one of the sets of sensory tubes. The other set allows us to show what can happen, as far as weather, with other sensory tubes. They are awesome.\r\n The shapes and the light table have allowed the students to be able to experiment with different colors as well as sort the shapes. \r\n We absolutely love the sensory fish and jellyfish tubes. My students were THRILLED to see the snack drawers full and a fresh box of Slim Jims so much so that I had to hide the Slim Jims in a different spot as they were quickly disappearing... It just so happened that the week the materials came in, a student shared her mother's recent breast cancer diagnosis. Not many 8th graders are into coloring but the fresh box of colored pencils was encouraging enough for the student and I to sit and color as she shared all of the things she loved about her mom. The unexpected favorite of the bunch was the weighted dinosaur stuffed animal, whose name was decided to be Diego. Kids will often scoop him up and hold him like a baby while we chat or sometimes when they just need something to hug. Your donation was so deeply appreciated by myself and my students.
