Your kindness has already made such a difference for my students.\r\nOur classrooms do not have air conditioning, and during the warmer months, our building can become extremely hot. Due to safety concerns, the school must remain closed up throughout the day and evenings, causing the heat to become trapped inside. On especially hot days, my students often come to class overheated and dehydrated, sometimes complaining of headaches and struggling to stay comfortable and focused.\r\nThanks to your generosity, I can now keep cold water readily available for students when they need it. I can also keep ice and popsicles in the classroom to help everyone cool down on those hot days. Something as simple as having access to a cold drink can make a huge difference in helping students feel comfortable and ready to learn. The new laptop and docking station have given me a much more efficient workspace for collecting, organizing, and analyzing the many different types of student data I use to guide instruction. Instead of simply looking at a class average, I can more easily examine individual student performance, identify patterns and learning gaps, monitor growth over time, and use that information to decide what my students need next.\r\n\r\nHaving the right technology has also made it easier for me to turn that information into action. I can use assessment results to create small groups, plan targeted interventions, adjust upcoming lessons, and provide additional practice based on specific student needs. I can also work more efficiently across the different programs and resources I use for assessment, instruction, and planning. The docking station allows me to use a full classroom workstation while still having the flexibility of a laptop when I need it elsewhere.\r\n\r\nFor my students, the exciting part may not be the computer itself, but what happens because of it. They receive instruction that is more responsive to what they actually know and what they are ready to learn next. Before this project, my students were using TI-84 graphing calculators for everyday calculations. While those are powerful tools, they are often more technology than my students need. With so many menus, functions, and features available, students could easily become distracted or spend valuable class time figuring out the calculator instead of thinking about the mathematics. The new TI-30XS scientific calculators give students exactly the tools they need while keeping the focus where it belongs: on learning and problem solving.\r\n\r\nMy students have quickly embraced the new calculators. They appreciate having a calculator that is easier to navigate and allows them to see and enter mathematical expressions in a way that closely resembles what they see on paper. Instead of asking, \"How do I make the calculator do this?\" they can spend more time asking the questions I really want to hear: \"Why does this work?\" and \"Did I solve this correctly?\" That small shift makes a big difference in building mathematical independence and confidence.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite parts of this project is that we now have enough calculators to provide students with a consistent, reliable tool whenever they need one. No student has to worry about having the right calculator or being at a disadvantage because they do not have one of their own. Students earn tickets throughout the week for demonstrating positive behaviors such as kindness, responsibility, and perseverance, and on Fridays we gather together for \"Plinko time.\" Students use their earned tickets for a chance to win small prizes, and the excitement surrounding this routine has made positive behavior something students actively work toward. Another teacher even shared with me that students talk about Plinko time as one of their favorite things at school, which truly highlights the impact of this project.\r\n When students first saw the Plinko board and prizes, their reaction was immediate excitement with big smiles, and lots of questions about how they could earn tickets. Almost right away, students began asking, \"What can I do to earn a ticket?\" I make a point to stock the rewards with items students are genuinely interested in, which helps keep them engaged and motivated. I've seen students encourage one another to make good choices, creating a more positive and supportive classroom environment.\r\n Moving forward, we will continue using the Plinko board to reinforce PBIS expectations while connecting positive behavior to classroom lessons and schoolwide goals. Students are learning that their choices matter and that positive behavior is worth celebrating.
