As soon as the items were introduced, they immediately gravitated toward the table toys and couldn't wait to explore. There were lots of smiles, curious hands, and happy chatter as they tried everything out for the first time.\r\n\r\nMany of the resources were added as sensory-based table toys that also support fine motor development and self-regulation. We use them most during arrival and transition times. For many of our students, the start of the day can feel overwhelming, so having engaging, hands-on materials at just the right level helps them settle their bodies, focus their attention, and begin the day successfully. Instead of struggling with the transition, they are now walking in, sitting down, and getting right to purposeful play.\r\n\r\nThese tools are strengthening hand skills, coordination, and attention while also helping students feel calm and ready to learn — which sets a positive tone for the rest of the day.\r\n\r\nNext, we plan to continue incorporating the materials into small group and center activities to target fine motor skills like grasping, manipulating, sorting, and building. We'll also rotate the items to keep things fresh and motivating so students stay engaged while practicing important developmental skills.\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful to our donors for helping us create a classroom that feels welcoming, supportive, and fun for every learner!","fullyFundedDate":1769302728852,"projectUrl":"project/warmth-comfort-for-pre-k-who-learn-dif/10052113/","projectTitle":"Warmth & Comfort for Pre-K Who Learn Differently","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jess","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10416013"},{"teacherId":4363830,"projectId":9925632,"letterContent":"We are using these materials with excitement! The donated materials—including paints, Play-Doh, Play-Doh cutters, crayons, markers, and a variety of art tools—have had a tremendous impact on both learning and daily engagement.\r\n\r\nWith these new supplies, students are now able to express themselves more freely through hands-on, open-ended art experiences. The paints and markers allow children to explore color mixing, storytelling through pictures, and early writing strokes, while the Play-Doh and cutters strengthen their fine-motor skills, hand strength, and coordination—skills essential for pre-writing and functional independence.\r\n\r\nThese materials have also brought more joy and calm into our daily routines. Children independently choose art centers more often, stay engaged for longer periods of time, and proudly share their creations with peers and teachers. For many of our young learners, these tools provide a meaningful way to communicate, explore emotions, and build confidence.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, your kindness shows our children that their creativity matters. You've helped them see themselves as artists—our very own \"Little Picassos\"—and given them opportunities to imagine, explore, and create every single day.\r\n\r\nThank you for making such a lasting and meaningful difference in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1712833582172,"projectUrl":"project/little-picassos/8287577/","projectTitle":"Little Picasso's","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Robin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8226108_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1690364451498","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8226108"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_131664","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":87,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":41,"percentWhite":21,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":76.6,"schoolId":131664,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Pittsburgh Conroy Early Intervention on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Pittsburgh Conroy Early Intervention","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/pittsburgh-public-schools/pittsburgh-conroy-early-intervention/131664"}
