It took a few tries to get a house built, it was very exciting to see students working together, problem solving. Doing something that wasn't the way they hoped it would turn out, then actively try to help each other as they worked to make a wall, floor and ceiling in with the house tiles. Then the students figured out how to make different structures and share between each other. Just priceless even in the way they are growing in socializing with each other! The road expansion set has been being used with monster trucks. We have been adding some stop and go signs. It has been a great choice time option and the way it gets built each day shows more elaborate planning. \r\nIn the next two weeks we will begin a dinosaur unit and will be using the eggs excavation science kit and the bubbling volcano. It is exciting to know those are in the wing to add depth and hands on learning to the lessons. To see first-hand the growth of young minds and to see verbal language and social skills expand, truly is priceless. Student's love getting something special on their special day. \r\n\r\nWe are set to make lots of crafts for the 100th day of school and Valentine's Day coming up soon. Some of the things I originally ordered were not available. It ended up working out well because I always discover things I need that I forgot to ask for. I was able to get magnets for our mother's day presents, dry erase markers, and name plates. I didn't realize I was low or out of these things. Sometimes that happens, I go to use something and realize I am out or an going to need more. So you helped me in many ways with this project. You helped our school work through a tough time and not run out of copy paper! Thank you! It may not seem like much, but not having paper to practice early writing skills in the Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade, is not an option. \r\n\r\nThe paper from this project made it possible for the elementary grades to continue to work with everything they needed, especially for math. Our math curriculum has a lot of parts. Many of which require print outs of cards for students to sort and manipulate. physically manipulating things is an very important step in early math learning too. We were able to keep making math materials for class and homework. Students continued to get practice writing numbers and working out math concepts uninterrupted. \r\n\r\nLastly, I was able to get all my students new crayons to start the 2nd semester. They needed them too! At the beginning of Kindergarten we are not as responsible as we learn to be so many are lost. Some were sharing certain colors. They love their new crayons! I was asking for help with iPad headphone adaptors, fidget toys and reward stickers. These things have all been so helpful in getting our class on track to be successful learners. Students have come a long way and are more focused than ever which is perfect for all the learning we need to do in the 2nd half of the year. Also, the adaptors helped to stop the crazy cycle of broken adaptors and no adaptors! We were able to replace adaptors right away and had plenty when others broke. I still have plenty to replace any that break between here and the end of the year. Of all the things I need to worry about for each student's education, adaptors could not be one of them. So thank you again for taking that completely off my plate.
