With your help we have started off our year well stocked and ready to learn. We have been working hard to learn how to hold our pencils and write our names. In some of our photos you will see us drawing, thinking and sharing about vocabulary from our texts. Writing is hard for K students at first, but once they build up stamina they really love to write. They feel so grown! \r\nWe haven't officially started using our journals yet. We have been writing on separate sheets of paper. We will be ready to start drawing and writing in our journals at the end of January. \r\nWe have been using glue sticks to create masterpieces of art in our daily PlayLab. Students love creating and making things. We have to work hard to take care of our glue sticks as we like to leave off the caps, but we are getting more responsible each week. We also create with markers from this project. \r\nLastly we have used the cardstock for many of the things we use everyday. Our name tags are printed on cardstock which helps them stand up to be easily read and stand up to our roughness. The cardstock has been very helpful with creating most of the math materials we use. Like in the pictures, I was able to create a math center for the number tic-tac-toe boards for students. \r\nThank you all so much for making learning happen!","fullyFundedDate":1746710269618,"projectUrl":"project/gearing-up-for-next-year/9218141/","projectTitle":"Gearing Up for Next Year","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wetzel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3061071_orig.jpg?crop=315,315,x0,y38&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1705422146908","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-holly-wetzel"},{"teacherId":3349463,"projectId":9592665,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting our teaching, learning and growing. It is a good calming activity, a good break, a motivator that the kids have learned to ask for or are surprised and happy when they receive one to use. It is great to see them sharing, to find them figuring out how to turn them over one at a time and sequence the colors and water bubbles. \r\nThank you for fostering our well-being and our learning. Students love the puzzles! They have been working hard on using their hands with these puzzles and building their fine motor skills. \r\nOur puzzle rack holds all of our puzzles. Students are able to clean up the puzzles easily and place them on the rack for the next play time. I am happy to be able to keep things organized and ready for them each day. \r\nWe also got some large storage bags that have been great at keeping some other toys separate, yet giving them an easy way to be cleaned up and stored. It is still early in the school year, so I can't put out too many things at a time for them to choose from. Having things organized and easily accessible is super helpful as we work with different toys. \r\nLastly, one of the puzzles wasn't available, but that is ok. I ordered some more of the little pencils that are perfect for small hands at the beginning of the year.
