The new snacks, treats, and rewards have become a huge motivator for students to stay on task, participate, improve attendance, and make positive choices in class each day. It has created such a fun and encouraging classroom environment.\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching students excitedly save up their points and carefully choose rewards they had been working toward. Even small items brought so much excitement and pride. Students immediately noticed the new supplies and treats, and many of them were genuinely shocked that people they had never met cared enough to support our classroom. It sparked conversations about kindness, generosity, and community support.\r\nThese resources are also helping me continue strengthening our classroom culture during an especially important time of year as students prepare for exams and finish major Algebra 1 concepts. Students are working hard on Keystone preparation, collaborative activities, and review games, and the PBIS rewards help keep them motivated and engaged. Moving forward, we will continue using these incentives to celebrate growth, perseverance, attendance, and academic improvement.\r\nThank you again for investing in my students and helping create a classroom where they feel supported, encouraged, and excited to learn every day.","fullyFundedDate":1778005287056,"projectUrl":"project/fueling-positive-choices-pbis-rewards-f/10186160/","projectTitle":"Fueling Positive Choices: PBIS Rewards for My Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Germansky","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3203213_orig.jpg?crop=684,684,x275,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1583255571838","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3203213"},{"teacherId":5132953,"projectId":10049186,"letterContent":"Thank you to the Tepper Foundation and DonorsChoose for your generous support of our high school nurses' office. The extra laptop chargers have been a game‑changer as well. My students rely heavily on technology for simulations, data collection, and online labs, and your support ensures that dead batteries never interrupt their learning. One of my favorite moments came during our first digital lab of the semester: several students who often feel anxious about being unprepared lit up when they realized they could grab a charger and get right to work without missing a beat.\r\nWe're already putting these resources to use in our current unit on energy and motion. Students are building long‑term lab portfolios, comparing their predictions, data, and explanations from hands‑on investigations. Because they can keep their devices charged and their materials organized, they've been able to work more efficiently—and with noticeably more pride. Next week, students will begin a multi‑day project analyzing real‑world phenomena using online simulations and recorded lab data. Their organized binders will help them track their progress, while the chargers will allow groups to stay collaborative and mobile around the room.\r\nYour support has not only provided materials—it has given my students a sense of preparedness, independence, and ownership of their learning.
