I have been able to provide an extensive number of new opportunities and learning experiences for my students in grades kindergarten through sixth grade across three elementary schools within my district. These students have been overjoyed to discover each new material class by class. In fact, many students often approach me throughout the building to remind me about what I need to get ready for them so that they can continue designing their latest projects during their upcoming STEM visit. \r\n\r\nThanks to your contributions I have been able to engage my students with the following novel projects this past semester:\r\n\r\n- Design a lunar rover that can carefully deliver a payload to the target location\r\n- Design a Lego foosball table for 2-4 players to enjoy a game together\r\n- Design an earthquake safe structure with makerspace materials\r\n- Construct the slowest or fastest Hot Wheels Racetrack \r\n- Create the fastest wind sail Knex car \r\n- Design a miniature golf hole and golfclub using makerspace materials\r\n- Design a bridge that can support the most cars / pedestrians (various weights) \r\n\r\nEach of these new challenges have helped my students to enter the classroom with a renewed enthusiasm to tackle ordinary problems in more creative ways.
