Usually, the \"unboxing\" of school supplies is a standard affair, but watching my students gather around the hydroponic tower was something special. Their eyes widened as they realized they weren't just getting \"dirt and seeds,\" but a high-tech laboratory where they could watch life happen in real-time. Students were marveling at how \"professional\" our greenhouse finally looked.\r\n\r\nWe are currently putting these resources to work every single day. The students felt like true scientists, recording humidity and temperature levels to ensure our beefsteak tomatoes and sweet bell peppers had the perfect environment to thrive. The clear nursery pots have been a total game-changer; the students are fascinated by being able to see the root systems develop through the plastic. It has turned a \"lesson on roots\" into a daily visual discovery. We've even used the disinfectant and hand sanitizer to establish a \"clean room\" protocol, teaching the kids that a professional greenhouse is as much about hygiene as it is about horticulture.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are officially in the \"nurturing phase\" for our upcoming Plant Sale. Because of your generosity, every student has their own ergonomic tool kit and whiskey barrel planter to manage their \"inventory.\" The next step for my students is to move from the germination kits to the large-scale transplanting of our herbs and vegetables. They are already calculating potential \"profits\" for the club, but more importantly, they are practicing the patience and responsibility that comes with keeping a living thing alive. You haven't just funded a garden; you've funded a sanctuary where my students can breathe, learn, and flourish.","fullyFundedDate":1770849168745,"projectUrl":"project/peaceful-thoughts-a-greenhouse-project/9978287/","projectTitle":"Peaceful Thoughts: a Greenhouse Project","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Anita","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10395308"},{"teacherId":9196868,"projectId":9622267,"letterContent":"With great delay, I want to thank you once again for your generous donations. The students love being able to sit on comfy chairs to work in small groups, pairs, or simply to complete independent work. For example, the students sat in small circles to play a whisper down the lane game. The flex seating is currency in the classroom as a reward for productivity.\r\n\r\nThe led lights add so much to the classroom ambiance, which make room 236 a calming space for students to learn and grow. The classroom does not have any windows to emergency lighting so the led lights offer softer light in the class for a darker mellow vibe for students to chill. \r\n\r\nWe very often use the class set of dry erase boards for formative assessments like quickly translating a sentence. They also come in handy when we play Pictionary in Spanish to practice our vocab. They are really key in helping students reach learning goals in a fun and engaging way. \r\n\r\nWe thank you so much for your support and generosity. Our schools are better because of people like you who support the needs of students even if the state doesn't do so adequately all of the time. The dry erase whiteboards have become an indispensable tool for our daily lessons. We use them for everything from brainstorming sessions and quick problem-solving exercises to collaborative group work.\r\n The provision of feminine products has also been incredibly valuable.
