When the boxes of snack variety packs and Lysol disinfecting wipes arrived, my students were genuinely touched that people they had never met cared enough to invest in their daily well-being. There was a collective cheer when they saw the Oreo and Chips Ahoy packs, and several students immediately commented on how much they appreciated having a \"recharge station\" for those long afternoon blocks.\r\n\r\nWe have integrated these resources into our daily routine with great success. During our most intensive work sessions, having a healthy supply of Goldfish crackers and Fruit Roll-Ups has significantly decreased \"brain fog\" and kept students focused on their assignments rather than their empty stomachs. One specific moment that stood out was during a recent collaborative group project; instead of students losing steam halfway through, they were able to grab a snack, sanitize their shared workspace with disinfecting wipes, and stay energized and productive until the bell rang.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for my students involve a deep dive into our upcoming college and career prep modules. With their basic nutrition needs and a clean environment met, they are now channeling that extra energy into drafting their personal statements and researching future opportunities. Your generosity has truly helped turn our classroom into a \"home base\" where they feel safe, fueled, and ready to succeed. My classroom now looks and feels like a true business setting. Instead of a standard schoolroom, the students now walk into a space that commands a higher level of professionalism. They are incredibly appreciative and grateful; you can see a noticeable difference in their posture and their focus.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the students were buzzing with excitement. Rather than just handing them a finished product, I turned the arrival of the chairs into a real-world project management experience.\r\n\r\nThe students were tasked with assembling the chairs themselves. This became a powerful lesson in:\r\n1. Attention to detail: Ensuring every bolt was secure.\r\n2. Following technical directions: Understanding that in business, the \"small print\" matters.\r\n3. Teamwork: Working together to move from a pile of parts to a functional workspace.\r\n\r\nIt was a proud moment to see them take \"ownership\" of their new equipment\r\nWith our new professional setup complete, we are moving directly into real-world learning lessons. Now that the students are sitting in a professional environment, they will be practicing high-level presentations and mock meetings. Having these chairs allows them to \"act the part\" of business executives, helping them build the confidence they need for their future careers.","fullyFundedDate":1759173530334,"projectUrl":"project/give-our-business-students-a-seat-at-the/9641387/","projectTitle":"Give Our Business Students a Seat at the Table","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rowe","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5734809_orig.jpg?crop=2637,2636,x0,y79&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755908265798","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5734809"},{"teacherId":5878547,"projectId":9387451,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting this project to refresh the Life Skills apartment at Roxborough High School. The mats gave them a defined space to chill out, stretch or exercise, which is great for emotional and sensory needs. \r\n\r\nI started using the token boards with a few students before the end of the school year.
