My students are loving crowding into my little office with the stacking stools that give everyone a place to sit. Students helped me build the storage cart and were so proud of themselves when they saw how nice it looked when it was completed! Looking forward to stocking it full of products that they can use whenever they need. \r\nIt's also great seeing our Spanish-speakers able to express how they're feeling in their own language, and access things like grounding exercises through the Spanish-language posters. Your contribution has already had a significant and positive impact on our English Language Learner (ELL) students. Thanks to the new headphones, we were able to streamline the administration of the WIDA ACCESS test, allowing us to assess more students efficiently and provide them with the support they need more quickly. Beyond testing, these headphones have become an invaluable tool in our daily ESL classroom activities. We now regularly use them for targeted listening comprehension exercises and speaking practice. This focused practice, free from classroom distractions, has allowed our students to develop greater confidence in their verbal and listening English skills. It's been wonderful to witness their willingness to participate more actively in discussions and their increased comfort in expressing themselves.\r\n\r\nThe arrival of the new leveled reading books has been a great asset to our classroom. For some of our students, these were the very first books they have ever read independently in English. This was a moment of pride and accomplishment for them. The fact that the books are available at various reading levels has been a game-changer. It allows us to meet each student where they are in their language journey, providing them with engaging and accessible materials that build a sense of success while encouraging a love of reading.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we will continue to utilize these wonderful resources to further support our students' language development. We are currently incorporating the new books into our reading group sessions, allowing for differentiated instruction and focused discussions tailored to each student's reading level and interests. The confidence they are gaining through these reading experiences, coupled with the focused listening and speaking practice enabled by the headphones, will undoubtedly empower them to thrive both inside and outside the classroom. Thank you again for your incredible contribution to our students' success!","fullyFundedDate":1734712119176,"projectUrl":"project/esl-literacy-and-learning/8999274/","projectTitle":"ESL Literacy and Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Larose","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9634317_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723167938523","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-larose"},{"teacherId":9634317,"projectId":8607881,"letterContent":"I am writing to express our sincere gratitude for your generous donation of books and games to my ESL classroom. Your kindness has had a profound impact on my students, enriching their educational experience and fostering a love of language learning.\r\n\r\nThe books in my students' home languages have been an invaluable resource, enabling them to engage with daily homework reading assignments with greater ease and enjoyment. Each week in their ELA class, students must pick a chapter book to read from and write about. My students get excited to check out a new book from my class library to use on this assignment. For my level 1 English learners, having books in Spanish has made this assignment more accessible. By accessing books that are both culturally relevant and personally interesting, my students are able to develop their reading comprehension and fluency skills. Literacy skills are transferable across languages so engaging with books in any language strengthens their English literacy as well. The availability of these books has created a more inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.\r\n\r\nIn addition to the books, the English language games have proven to be a fun addition to my classroom. These games have provided my students with a fun and engaging way to practice their language skills in a low-stakes environment. By applying vocabulary and grammar concepts in a real-life context, students are able to build confidence and fluency in their English language abilities. I have observed a significant increase in student motivation and participation in language activities as a result of these games. In particular, students have enjoyed practicing colors and numbers with Uno, unit specific vocabulary with Pictionary, and social vocabulary across all the games. \r\n\r\nThank you once again for your generosity. Your support has made a tangible difference in the lives of my students. We are truly grateful for your commitment to education and look forward to the continued positive impact of your donation.","fullyFundedDate":1724291434618,"projectUrl":"project/esl-language-building-fun/8607881/","projectTitle":"ESL Language Building Fun","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Larose","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9634317_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723167938523","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-larose"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_90909","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":259,"numTeachers":19,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":33,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":61,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"13.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":46.8,"schoolId":90909,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Roberto Clemente Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Roberto Clemente Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/philadelphia-city-school-district/roberto-clemente-middle-school/90909"}
