We are talking about how fair is not always equal when we have students with diverse learning needs. We have done read-alouds with our emotion stories and have had really wonderful discussions about such complex social-emotional topics. They are so engaged and interested in these SEL books! \r\n\r\nFurther, to help meet these diverse needs, their flexible seating has been so helpful! Their bouncy bands and feet fidgets allow them to meet their sensory needs while remaining focused in class. Our books teach the whole class why some friends may have flexible seating while others may not need it. These two pieces are working so well together! As we have had new students enter the classroom with diverse needs, our students have been welcoming them with open arms as we continue to read our SEL books.","fullyFundedDate":1755369845247,"projectUrl":"project/social-emotional-resources-for-ms-ps-1/9595275/","projectTitle":"Social Emotional Resources for Ms. P's 1st Graders & Kindergarteners!!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. P","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10176950"},{"teacherId":8440574,"projectId":6701479,"letterContent":"Thanks to your incredible generosity, all four of our 1st grade classrooms—nearly 100 students—received a huge boost in their math learning this year. The new resources, from mini Rekenreks to number line whiteboards, transformed the way our students approached math. These tools gave them the hands-on practice and visual support they needed to truly understand early number concepts. We used them daily in small groups, math centers, and even during whole-group instruction. Students were able to build number sense, practice strategies, and develop independence in a way that worksheets alone could never offer.\r\n\r\nThe excitement on their faces when they saw the new supplies was unforgettable. Many of them had never used manipulatives like these before, and they dove right in. Over time, we watched their confidence grow—students who used to hesitate were suddenly volunteering to solve problems at the board or explain their thinking to a classmate. The impact was clear: our 1st grade students showed the highest growth in math on the STAR test across the entire school. That's a huge accomplishment, and it wouldn't have been possible without your support.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we'll continue using these materials to build even stronger foundational skills. They've become essential tools in our classrooms, and they'll benefit students for years to come. Thank you for believing in our young mathematicians and giving them the resources to thrive—you've made a lasting difference.","fullyFundedDate":1660880275272,"projectUrl":"project/making-math-magic/6701479/","projectTitle":"Making Math Magic","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Matthews","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8440574_orig.png?crop=796,796,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752616619666","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8440574"},{"teacherId":8521951,"projectId":8637896,"letterContent":"While gluesticks might seem like the neater option, we love making messes in elementary school! With these glue bottles, we will allow our students to create tangible items.
