I believe that a thriving school environment relies on supporting the whole student—whether that is in social studies, athletics, or the arts.\r\n\r\nOver the past year, I spent a lot of time talking with our music teacher and watching our student musicians practice. I quickly noticed a major problem facing our music program: our bass guitars were on their last legs. Among the department's gear was a beloved vintage Univox bass from the 1970s. While everyone adored its history, it had developed severe electrical issues, frequently cutting out mid-performance. The bass acts as the heartbeat—it is the crucial bridge between melody and rhythm. Right when our students needed it most, that heartbeat was silent.\r\n\r\nKnowing how much music means to our students, I decided to step in and launch the \"It's All About the Bass\" DonorsChoose project to support our music program. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we were able to bring two brand-new, reliable instruments directly into our school: a California Blue Squier Sonic Bronco and a Satin Black Jackson Concert Bass Minion.\r\n\r\nThe impact of these instruments was immediate. Replacing our unreliable gear meant that no student had to sit on the sidelines during class or practice and they no longer had to worry about their sound cutting out. \r\n\r\nEven better, this impact is already carrying forward. Our incoming 9th-grade freshmen saw the new gear during orientation and are incredibly excited to pick up these instruments and learn to play.
