The positive motivation rewards you funded have brought so much happiness and good behavior to our second-grade classroom. These fun prizes help all my students make great choices every day!\r\n\r\nHow We're Using the New Resources\r\n\r\nMy students and I are so excited to use the new squishies, colorful bracelets, lollipops, and small toys! These wonderful items are the prizes in our special \"Prize Bin\" and they help us reinforce key actions like listening quietly, sharing nicely, and staying focused during learning time.\r\n\r\nA specific moment that stands out was during our independent reading time last week. We were working on staying silent and reading for the full 15 minutes, which can be tricky for seven-year-olds! One student, who usually gets distracted easily, sat still and read his entire book. He didn't interrupt anyone, and when he finished, he quietly chose a new book. I was able to reward his great focus with a cool new squishy right away! That small, fun item made him feel so proud and showed everyone else that good behavior gets noticed.\r\n\r\nHow Students Reacted\r\n\r\nWhen the boxes of rewards first arrived, the students were absolutely buzzing with excitement. It truly felt like a big surprise! There were huge smiles and happy shouts as they saw the fun variety of items—especially the sticky squishies and the brightly colored bracelets. They immediately started pointing out what they wanted to earn and listing all the good choices they would make to get a prize from the box. The materials have given them a simple, tangible goal and a clear connection between kindness, effort, and reward.\r\n\r\nNext Steps for Our Students\r\n\r\nWe are currently working hard on our \"Super Readers\" project, where we are practicing sounding out tricky words and reading with better speed and expression. This requires them to stay focused and listen carefully to their reading partners. The Prize Bin is already helping! Students are earning a chance at a prize for showing reading effort, helping their partners, and working quietly on their reading assignments. We are using the rewards to incentivize these positive behaviors, ensuring every second grader becomes a confident and enthusiastic \"Super Reader\" this year.\r\n\r\nThank you again for helping us build such a motivated, positive, and enthusiastic learning community!","fullyFundedDate":1759373384827,"projectUrl":"project/motivation-matters-positive-behavior-re/9741721/","projectTitle":"Motivation Matters: Positive Behavior Rewards","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kerns","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10006845_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y548&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1745719395953","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10006845"},{"teacherId":4626679,"projectId":9595718,"letterContent":"I am ecstatic about all of the wonderful supplies that have been donated to our classroom, which have made a real impact throughout our learning projects. Our students are using them to successfully calm down, focus, and regulate emotions, which is making a huge difference in their ability to stay on task and complete work.\r\n\r\nThey've been especially fantastic for our special needs students, who are motivated by working towards and achieving small, attainable goals throughout the day. The tools are serving as perfect positive reinforcement and a meaningful way to celebrate academic achievement and school attendance.\r\n\r\nIt's so rewarding to see them enjoy something that is both fun and helpful.
