I would like to extend heartfelt gratitude for your generous donations to help reach our goal to be able to receive a new refrigerator after the one that has been in our room for almost a century had finally gave way. Your thoughtful gift has already made a meaningful difference in our program, and we are truly appreciative of your kindness and support.\r\n\r\nIn our life skills classroom, we focus on helping students develop essential daily living skills that will serve them both now and in the future. Many of the activities in our class in addition to functional academics center around practical tasks related to cooking, meal preparation (with knowledge of food allergies known and unknown) as well as food safety. Having access to a refrigerator is vital for us to teach these lessons in a real-world, hands-on way. Thanks to your donation, our students can now safely store medicine as needed, ingredients, plan and prepare nutritious meals, and learn about the importance of food organization and maintenance which are all critical skills for independent living for the future.\r\n\r\nThis new refrigerator has quickly become an important part of our daily routine. They have been learning to take turns handling food responsibly, and to collaborate in keeping the kitchen area clean and well stocked. The refrigerator has also opened up new opportunities for our class to work on social and vocational skills. Some ideas we have in mind for the future for our students is to take on weekly responsibilities to check expiration dates, organize shelves, and create shopping lists for future class projects. These small but powerful tasks help strengthen their confidence, sense of responsibility, and teamwork.\r\n\r\nYour donation showed our students that they are supported and valued by their community, family and friends. Many of our learners face unique challenges, but they also bring incredible enthusiasm, curiosity, and resilience to the classroom every day. Your contribution sends a message that their growth and education matter, and that the community believes in their potential to achieve meaningful independence. That encouragement means more than words can express. Please know that your donation will continue to have a lasting impact on our program for years to come. Each new student who joins our classroom will benefit from the opportunities it provides. \r\n\r\nOnce again, thank you for your kindness and support. We are truly grateful for your partnership in helping our students grow and thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1756432633792,"projectUrl":"project/equipping-the-class-that-paved-my-passio/9631564/","projectTitle":"Equipping the Class That Paved My Passion for Special Education","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cofer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9412583_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755700454992","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9412583"},{"teacherId":1458714,"projectId":9635098,"letterContent":"On behalf of the fifth students at the Gilbert Spruance Elementary School , I want to extend our heartfelt thanks for your generous donation of a new classroom easel.\r\n\r\nThis easel is more than just a piece of furniture; it is a vital tool for learning.
