They watched soccer, learn about soccer players, and then were ready to give it their 'best shot'.\r\n\r\nStudents know what team they are on with the jerseys. They enjoy using the goal to make practice shots. And there is extra excitement as we learn about the games to be played by professionals in our home town. What a laugh as we had to hunt down air pump pins to blow up the soccer balls.\r\n\r\nOne added benefit that we had not realized is that the jerseys can be use to show all sorts of team arrangements (not just for soccer). Students have each been provided with their own headphones. They use the headphones to complete diagnostic assessments online; they use headphones to listen to read alouds; they use the headphones to access texts that may be higher than their own reading ability; and, yes, they use the headphones to hear math videos and multiplication songs.\r\n\r\nI am sure I have forgotten other ways that individual headphones have quieted our classrooms and provided access to curriculum. It is with ease that the day begins without looking or wondering if all the sticky messes have been cleared.\r\n\r\nIn addition to clean desks and work surfaces, we also received the materials to clean up minor cuts and scrapes.
